Ok, now I'm seeing everyone else getting theirs from Amazon it does suck a little bit that backers are having to wait longer than anyone else to read it.
I'm a bit surprised that Amazon have it listed quicker than I can deliver backers copies, sorry! Amazon buyers don't get a message from the author, though, and without the backers this book would never have happened (there's a thank you in the book about that). Typo on page 49? I haven't seen a final print version myself yet!

I'd imagine Quality Control was quite high with the Frontera, I mean they're Frontera's the best and most expensive 4x4 ever built, always wanted one but I just haven't got £500k just for a down payment on one, I wouldn't even know where to look for one for sale, but when you have a car with a gold plated chassis, magnesium wheels, titanium gearbox and billet engine where do you look? I heard that not even McLaren Special Operations will touch one in fear of damaging it.
As you have probably guessed, that above is a pisstake after someone I know threw the keys to an new X5 back at someone, told them to keep it as they have bought a real 4x4, walked outside to see a Frontera
On a different note, not really reading the whole thread but my dad had a Frontera from new in about 1994 I think, she was a Sport as well, the car was the funniest thing we have ever owned, it went through 6 immobiliser units, 3 wiring harnesses, I think a gearbox or diff packed up on it, the door fell off it twice, genuine open door, door falls on floor. The last time the door fell off was about 15 miles before the car got scrapped, my dad had enough and just left the door on the floor in the car park next to the car, best bit he was going to see his fleet manager and Vauxhall fleet manager about the car
Got it recovered, 30 miles later it packed up again on the drive, Vauxhall sent a Hi-ab truck to collect it, it never saw the road again, 15k miles on it, year old.

Speaking of doors, for my sins I used to sell LDV's. We sold a Maxus to a big rental company in the midlands, and the first customer that hired it out slammed the side loading door shut and it fell off and broke his foot
I also rejected one because the seam sealer ran to about 6 inches short of the roof on the side panel and they'd just painted it. I can only imagine someone had borrowed the guys stool he stood on to apply it.
The factory tour was interesting, the main tool they used to fix problems seemed to be a lump hammer!
