Seriously, how much did the owner pay you to take it away?

Looks awesome as it is! No matter what happens, you can now say you owned one thumbup

The body looks ok, actually. I suppose once you poke around underneath you will be able to tell what you are up against.

I have seen far worse cars than this turned around. Welding can work wonders!

Ignore the doom and gloom merchants. Do you remember those car forums where people were 'nice' and would look upon something like this as fantastic because they shared a passion for all things automotive? Now they are full of boring, sarcastic, s. laugh

Will look forward to some updates.

I'll also wager a guess that even to get it close to the road will cost more than buying a working example to begin with.
But the value of the experience and skills gained in even attempting to get it back on the road are worth more than the car would ever be.

I'll stick my neck out here and say that thing will never see an MOT again. I'll also wager a guess that even to get it close to the road will cost more than buying a working example to begin with.

Good luck
not a bit of it.

MOT is really not that hard to get through, especially with older cars.
The point at which I got my Mustang through the MOT, it was not really fit to drive. Transmission not working properly, engine not firing on all cylinders, electrics shot interior not fitted, no headliner/door cards, carpets etc, no paint, bodywork with dents/etc, windows not working well...

Most of which are sorted now, but was just easier to have an MOT before testing trans/engine etc.

You must have a helpful m.o.t tester. I have had far more simple and modern cars with failure sheets including tens of items.

modern cars yes. I struggle with the alfa some times, but older cars are a different kettle of fish smile
