They also have this as a yard hack.... biglaugh

Clinton at LONGRANGER does a cracking job, sold mine now and got this instead.
It's a factory pickup, but the Cabrio is a conversion

Pro Aussie golfer Stuart Appelby did an E39 M5 conversion years ago. Recall vast amounts being spent.

Of course Australians lay claim (rightly or wrongly) to the first unofficial and official pick up/utility vehicles

There was a story back in the 1920s I recall of overnight Aussie millionaires (station owners) following the Ashes to the old country and stocking up for the return voyage by boat. Amongst those items would usually be a vehicle or four...

Anyhow. Aussie Joe walks into said upmarket London Rolls Royce dealership (and nervous salesman) straight to top of the range 'limo' models with a partition between driver and rear. Sits himself down and tapping the glass behind his ear explains to the now flummoxed flakey somewhat laconically "that'll stop the buggers from biting me ears..."

The 'buggers' being sheep of course...

These, and other high end cars were apparently held in high esteem for their mechanical toughness in such days. The 'top of the range' model would simply b cut and shunted with a hardwood tray and serve its days on the station before ending up in the hands of the local roo-shooter.

I saw one in ruins once whilst working as a land surveyor in western NSW near where the original Mad Max was filmed

(And yes it is a unimog above)

That shape isn't the best-looking RX7. It's not even the second-best looking RX7...
Really? Well, taste is such a personal thing, but I suspect you'd find yourself in your normal minority of one with that confused Just out of morbid fascination, how would you go about ranking the three generations of RX-7 in terms of best-lookingestness, obviously given that the FD twin turbo comes last?

A local farmer runs around in something similar to this:

According to him it's cheaper than the equivalent side by side ATV thingy and just about better at everything!

The first-shape RX7 was lovely.
The second-shape was nice enough, if you can find one that hasn't been ruined by Barry-san.
The third-shape was just an odd chubby blobby thing.

So, can you change your Q plate for a personal / cherished / chav plate?

No, I don't think you can, I believe that once you have a Q, it's there permanently. Why would anyone show a Q-plate if they could replace it with a £199 cheapo cherished plate? And there's the year to consider - the main rule of cherished number plates is that they can't be fitted to a car that's older than the plate (i.e. they cannot make the car look newer than it is) and as a Q-plate says the car is of uncertain date, how could that rule be applied?
