A later 250 bhp 944 Turbo was my first Porsche and the only one that wasn't a (rear wheel drive, narrow body,
manual, coupé) 911. Maybe the 220 bhp version is different but my abiding memory is massive turbo lag and having to be very careful about unintended and unwanted oversteer. I'd be much happier peddling a 911 in the wet than a 944 Turbo.

I was expecting to see the car being for sale at 4Star Classics, the purveyors of 'current market value + at least 25%' cars.
As said previously, it's not a delivery miles car, and the issues over what work might or might not be needed to bring a car up to that standard is somewhat irrelevant, as if you hunt down a car that has had proper maintenance over the years then shocks, springs, bushes and other oily bits would/should have been done.
Another issue with a car at this value is that if you view it based on its mileage, as soon as you start using it then the mileage starts to nudge towards other 944 turbos, and as I would say, it becomes any other 944 turbo.
Now, if you want a low miles example that you will keep and use sparingly, then fair enough, but I'm sure there's physicslly better cars out there, possible concours car from the IPEC etc
I agree with the notion that Autofarm are probably trying to reset the market placing for these, and the sad thing is that the majority of PH'ers find that the cars they have lusted after for years, and which have taken a back seat to other expenses like houses, and children, have moved out of their reach.
I wonder what Autofarm or 4Star Classics would want for a 924 Carrera GT....

Autofarm built/restored a 2.8 engined 944 Silver Rose turbo S for a customer a quite few years ago that was featured in a magazine. It was briefly for sale 4 or 5 years ago and I tried to track it down to buy but it disappeared. That kind of car is the ultimate road 944 turbo in my view, and possibly the natural progression if it hadn't had to be pegged back to protect 911 sales.
£45k? Ouch.
Not gonna happen for my money. Plenty of other cars I'd rather look at. Another point is supply and demand. They made thousands of the bloody things:

With over 25,000 of them built, I fail to see how the supply side of the equation justifies that price. If there were something like a few hundred built, then fine, I would get it. But as it stands, this is a joke.
Still, a fool and his money are easily parted.

I had a late Turbo SE, with the M030 option. It was pretty neutral, and reasonably quick. The ride was definitely more sports car than GT and it was not prone to heavy understeer, even at the limit.
Like others have mentioned, you should test a later car, IMHO with the M030. It drove like a faster, laggier 968 Club Sport.

Personally I'd buy an even cheaper 250bhp Turbo with more mileage on - get one half the price of this and not worry about using it. They handle really well - friend has a nice one. Quite practical as well

OK so how's about my minty Clubsport suspended 9xx chipped Turbo with dualport wastegate, Bailey dump valve and 18psi of boost giving 320 brake approx for a quarter of the price of a 930?
The misses can have a new kitchen, round the world trip and plenty of Prada with the change.
