Bit of a weird one, and I'm sure I might know the answer, but does anyone know how to get into an E34 with a flat battery.

Does the boot open? My old e34 wouldn't open the doors with the key when stone dead but it would open the boot. I opened the ski hatch and after a lot of faffing managed to push the rear door button up using a broom handle with a notch cut in it.
I then took the battery out from under the back seat and locked the door again.

I just kept the broom handle in the boot from then on.

Have you got AA cover? I managed to lock myself out of our Subaru Outback (it auto-locks the doors when the engine starts and the doors closed, without checking if anyone's sitting in it).

Anyway, they had a specially trained chap round in less than an hour and managed to open it up without damage.
Now then.

Thanks for replying.
I'm in Gibraltar at the minute, so that's a no go.
But an excellent idea, nonetheless.

It's been pulled 'error in listing'. It was in this thread last week, and last time I looked on AT it was there for £1850. Hopefully it's sold to save me from temptation. Shame about missing headlamp washer cover.
That popped up a few weeks ago and I was quite interested - I looked the (crappy) at pics on my pc and thought it actually looked a bit rough so didn't pursue further. Pricey for an X plate too. I then found my S211 which I am well chuffed with so glad I didn't bother smile

Has this been posted yet? E34 540's are getting thin on the ground these days especially tourers. Seems cheap to me

Just checking in to the thread incase a nice shed budget barge comes up.

Missed out on a rather handsome sheddy GS300 so on the look out for something similar.

It's funny, when I don't need to actually buy a car there are what seems like hundreds around with a recent massive service, 4 premium tyres etc for next to no money, and now I'm looking to buy, nothing! laugh

We have, but it's still looking good. Cheap at just over 2k at the moment, although it's bound to go up over the next 6h.

The seller sounds like a good chap, obviously a cared-for car. smile

Utterly out of budget but I am sure this twin turbo 320 cabrio was much closer to budget about a year ago? http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C583187

Don't let my interest put you off. I'm at Silverstone all weekend and slightly pushed for time, so feel free to make contact and make an offer. If it was a more unusual colour I'd have bought it here and now unseen at that price. The car sounds an excellent buy. Good luck.

I seem to have bought a new shed...on eBay sight unseen. Picking it up in 2 weeks time. £1600 with most of the key jobs done. Wish me luck! Does anyone want to buy a nice Mk4 LS400 now surplus to requirements......

Does an S60 count as a barge? I suppose if we've had every single remaining asthmatic 190E and the odd 3 series it's eligible hehe

2005 2.4 T5 manual. It looks like it just came out of the factory (my cars always seem to end up looking like they just came out of a swamp) and he seems exactly the sort of owner you want to buy a car from. 310bhp remap to add some extra interest.

Beige-tastic. Looks well and must be quite the sleeper.
Loving this - clean door shuts, an owner after my own heart. I would want an auto, despite the potential bork, but nothing I can fault otherwise.
Bought this today!

It's now sat on my drive.

This is my second S60, the first was a 2.4t auto.

This one is a lot quicker and the manual shift is far superior to the clunky A/W auto.

As before though the Hifi and seats (actually I think 'chairs' is a better description) are the stand out features plus the nice little convenience things like the parking ticket holder and pockets in the front of the seats.

I viewed it (after seeing Grahams!) and like it, but not enough, though at £2370 currently with minutes to go I'm tempted. The car sat for around 6 years though which is putting me off, I didn't really check over the underneath.

Lovely cars, it's a shame big Volvo's have a whiff of the cholostomy bag or retirement home for most people.

Looks like good value for someone. Few bits of tidying and it'd become quite the young classic .

Excellent work. The problem with Volvo seats and stereos is that they make getting home to your lounge feel rather disappointing!

clap great to see another thread purchase, I must admit to being slightly jealous. I hope it proves bork-free and enjoyable for you, please keep the thread updated with your progress.
