The 203k mile V10 Audi S6 is back on eBay with no reserve, looks like the previous sale fell through

Regarding this weekend's Northern Losers Conference...

Mission Control would prefer it if we took the X350 XJR rather than the soft-top TWR XJS. Last weekend's soggy journey South was very noisy indeed.

Hope that's OK

Not to mention the huge amounts of fuel you'll save by choosing the 4.2 supercharged V8.

...is an unusual sentence.
Catching-up after another week overseas. This time, I can vouch that MB is the manufacturer of choice in a number of dodgy Eastern European countries.

Congrats to Jodyone and Ben on imminent purchases - good drills!

bob-lad - what a pity. I was looking forward to seeing yours, but I do understand in view of the forecast. Speckled Jim's comment was, as usual, spot-on.

Not to speak too soon but I am off to pick up a new barge tomorrow. As it thread tradition I won't divulge what it is but will make the following important points:

i) it was once a £100k car
ii) I have not seen it in the flesh
iii) it is over 150 miles from home
iv) I don't have AA membership.
v) I have a one way train ticket.

The seller is a fellow threadist and has been very up front about the car so I am sure all will be well.

Ben
That's how you play this game. Well done & Good Luck.

Now on the train and en route to the barge. As excited as a 7 year old on Christmas eve, or even as excited as a 40 year old picking up a new barge.

Best of luck, hope it is rust free, has a door stop thick file of receipts, a full tank of petrol, starts first time and ridiculously low price.

Seconded apart from the full tank - the first fill-up photo is an important part of the big reveal!

And to get the wallet accustomed to the frequent visits it will now be taking to the petrol station.

It is to replace / join an SL55 so I am no stranger to the filling station. 15 minutes away now.

Shares in BP or Shell might be an option then. We should do a group buy on this thread. At least get something back for the substantial support we provide.

Good luck on the purchase.

Same here - fitted the re-wired throttle body to the A124 this morning - the hood was down and up twice on the test drive - shielding my head from hail as it went up the second time. At least it idles properly now and pulls more smoothly.
