Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 10]
Discussion
Thanks chaps- have driven several now and was really surprised by how refined they were, even in comparison with the double glazed Audi. Glass on drivers side needs minor adjustments to improve the seal but otherwise pretty damn good. Just in time for this weekends heat wave!
ETA - quite liking the scruffy bodywork, quite liberating in a way as I'm not fussed if it gets scratched or not and I can park it where I like. Not like the Audi, ally panels soft as fudge.

Love the coupe but also have a soft spot for the s8, that looks great imo. Not really fair to compare the two. Very different cars. Keep both of them! Multiple cars are the answer. When you get into one after driving the other it helps remind you what's good about it. Sorry about the Lakeland weather chaps. Extra-wet Lake District rain (second only to Welsh rain in terms of wetness) was very much the order of the day!
Having spent the past few weeks desperately looking for a car (and needlessly dismissing a few decent ones in the process), I've ended up with something that loosely falls into this thread. Picked up a very early L322 Range Rover - it's the 4.4 HSE. Pretty rough around the edges but should be ok whilst I actually decide what I want!

Because of this thread, I've started to pay more attention to older Merc's. I have to say that they are rather pretty cars. Makes a change from the bland or overly-aggressive designs of modern cars.
Funnily enough, there are 3 parked down our road. I couldn't tell you anything about them, other than them being of the era that you lot like.

So I picked up this E320 Coupe on Monday.
That looks absolutely amazing, what a superb colour. Not getting to precious over the Merc until I know what whether I'm keeping it or not, ie whether it suits part time family duty (2yr old and associated paraphernalia). The Audi deals with this aplomb, although the Mrs won't drive it as its too big for her.
It's an honest example though, and I sense the novelty of dropping all 4 windows during the summer will take a while to subside

I think there's more than one wheel that doesn't belong, but I see where you're coming from Funnily enough, there are 3 parked down our road. I couldn't tell you anything about them, other than them being of the era that you lot like.

Cheers chaps - it's a 10 footer for sure but the 199 paint has got real depth to it so a mini detail will bring it out nicely I feel.

That's awesome, good find. It's interesting going back from a modern(ish) barge to an old Merc, isn't it? (I've moved from a Citroen C6). The Mercs hold up rather well, I think. Not getting to precious over the Merc until I know what whether I'm keeping it or not, ie whether it suits part time family duty (2yr old and associated paraphernalia). I haven't got bored of dropping all the windows of my W123 Coupé yet, on sunny days, and I've had it 6 years..!

@cornershop - nice purchase sir. May just need a new throttle cable if it's really firm
thanks, problem is I've found them all to be stiff?. The throttle linkage did look quite gunged up so will tackle that.On a separate note, All fuses replaced with new ceramic/brass contact items - we now have one touch window drop, at least on the driver window and working drivers butler
Need to get switch control bulbs replaced on the centre console and gearshift once I've found the how to guide - all but a few working. And replace the hideous Alpine head unit - period Becker already lined up.
