I agree, the pricing is all over, and most likely down to the so-called classic, och semi-classic bubble in this case. Traders on the continent seem to think that 10K+ Euro is a fair price for one with 150000 miles on the clock. It's not.
I payed 55000 Swedish (divide by 12ish for the price in pounds) for mine in May last year, lost my job pretty much a month after I bought it and had to sell, had it out until november for the same price as I paid before I got a customer, who then bought it on sight. Mine was as said a rather rare, well equipped totally rust free example in a very sober and rare colour combination of antracite metallic over black, with black headliner, and genuine 105000 miles and it took me half a year to sell. Imagine getting over 10k for a 150.000 mile pre-facelift. Not going to heppen.
Doesn't really answer your question tho, maybe the private sellers are more reasonable?
I assume you're looking for a RHD car? Food for thought is that the facelift short wheelbase 750 in right hand drive were made in 113 examples world wide, so they are the perverbial rocking horse poo....
Well, to be honest i'm in the market for a LHD version. I've got alerts on Mobile.de and Autoscout24 whenever a new one is added up for sale.
And to be completely honest, its a bit disappointing the UK has such incredibly cheap, low mileage cars. Whilst sellers in Europe have such exaggerated overvaluation of their cars.
At least the private sellers have realistic pricing but this gives rise to the 'is this too cheap' conundrum.

And the style 95's that are on assuming they are genuine will get you a fair chunk of cash back, very popular on E38's.Add says 1998, clearly a facelift. Can someone pull the VIN on that?

Another V12 here (with badges) doesn't look as nice as the Irish one and sadly yellow brake calipers.

I recently bought a car missing those on its C-pillars Looks all the better for it IMO.
Were those badges really an option? I've had 3, no badges on either, and I don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh with if I'm honest. Looks better without anyway. The 750 on the back gives it away for those who know. Gave a colleague a ride in my first one, he thought the 5 in 750 meant it was a five cylinder....PowerslideSWE said:

FWIW I prefer the pre-facelift cars..... although that may be due to a personal purchase
Anyway, as we're E38 picture whoring here's a pre-facelift for you....
Definitely prefer the late facelift personally! Yours must be a late prefacelift with that interior. Nice engine, mind Anyway, as we're E38 picture whoring here's a pre-facelift for you....
Just checking in with a CL500 update: The car developed a rattle in one of the catalytic converters just before getting the air-con compressor fixed so after having nice cool air over the the Le Mans weekend I thought I'd book it back in to see which side needed doing. I ordered the part today, annoyingly it is the more expensive side (both look the same to me!) but another pattern part should last another few years.
After this is all sorted the car will be up for sale, I just really want an E90 M3 and can't start the process whilst keeping it.

More great information! Thanks so much. I guess you either factor in these repair costs, or get a car with all the hard work done. The expensive third option may be one of the uber expensive low mile cars.
Although as lovely as these look, I do wonder if they might prove to be too huge to live with. For example in a multi storey car park etc! I guess an E34 five would be the sensible option!
Can't go wrong with an E34 five. The smaller engine cars can still be had fairly cheaply. Sadly the bigger engine are starting to go up pretty quickly. Great looking cars imo. I'll be selling mine soon and i'm really going to miss it.Although as lovely as these look, I do wonder if they might prove to be too huge to live with. For example in a multi storey car park etc! There is a lovely 535 kicking around in darkest south west wales that I've been trying to buy. Twice its been on ebay. 1295 and then 1195. Both times I've offered £1000 and been kicked back. Were it not a 6 hour train journey I'd have hit BIN!

The gash exhausts and badging put me right off.
Have we had these ones?
