Very nice, missing the rare and expensive v12 badges on the C pillars.
I recently bought a car missing those on its C-pillars Looks all the better for it IMO.tobinen said:

Got someone looking at viewing the E65 tomorrow evening. I know full well I'll miss it if it goes!!
But with an impending house move, I also know that getting a cheap hack hatchback IS the more sensible (boring) thing to do.
Or keep it and hire a van for the move. But with an impending house move, I also know that getting a cheap hack hatchback IS the more sensible (boring) thing to do.

I should have stated it's not a house move..... It's my first house purchase!

I am posting to share a fantastic motoring book with you. It is called Motoring My Way by the late Stanley Sedgwick. You cannot fail to enjoy this, all the more because it is so cheap in hardback form. I post an excerpt below detailing Mr Sedgwick's journey from Dunkerque to Marseilles and back in a day. He took a borrowed Rolls Royce Corniche. He was obviously addicted to driving and seems to have been of sufficient good fortune to do it some style but without being a knob.
I am afraid I bought all six copies available on Amazon at 45p plus postage but there are still loads available at a very modest rate. For the eccentric wordsmiths in our midst, this is a must.

I feel terrible now! You'll have to buy at 46p!
I figure they'll make good gifts. I found my copy to be signed by the author, a nice bonus.
1000 miles in the UK in one day...has anyone told Clarkson? Seems his type of challenge.I figure they'll make good gifts. I found my copy to be signed by the author, a nice bonus.
A colleague once went from Basildon to Padstow for lunch, pre-M25, and back for dinner. Through London. Mad.

More great information! Thanks so much. I guess you either factor in these repair costs, or get a car with all the hard work done. The expensive third option may be one of the uber expensive low mile cars.
Although as lovely as these look, I do wonder if they might prove to be too huge to live with. For example in a multi storey car park etc! I guess an E34 five would be the sensible option!
Can't go wrong with an E34 five. The smaller engine cars can still be had fairly cheaply. Sadly the bigger engine are starting to go up pretty quickly. Great looking cars imo. I'll be selling mine soon and i'm really going to miss it.Although as lovely as these look, I do wonder if they might prove to be too huge to live with. For example in a multi storey car park etc! There is a lovely 535 kicking around in darkest south west wales that I've been trying to buy. Twice its been on ebay. 1295 and then 1195. Both times I've offered £1000 and been kicked back. Were it not a 6 hour train journey I'd have hit BIN!

One of the reasons I haven't been here much of late.
