Potentially (he says, with no intention or means of buying) a slight bargain, slight. Really good ones are c£20k and the best may get to £30k+ soon.
But this one is VERY rough.

Wheelbarrow of brave pills needed there I think. Amazing pricing.

The mot history makes for good reading.

Haven't seen MOMO Arrow wheels in years! Really liked them in my youth.

I particularly liked this line of the ad.

THERE WILL BE OTHER THINGS WHICH DO NOT WORK.

Pretty much covers everything.

me too! I really like the look of these cars, but buying a scruffy one is a properly scary prospect.

Not much worse than buying an E32 750i that's in bad shape.

Oh wait hehe

In reality, much of their underpinnings are E32, it's just the bespoke 8 series stuff (body panels, interior bits etc) which can cost a lot more, otherwise they aren't complex cars in reality. But yes, buying a shed from the outset doesn't bode well unless you're handy with the spanners!

Nice-looking six-cylinder mini-barge here. Wheels are wrong but everything else looks right. Hard not to love the colours.

I'd buy it for the wheels alone

Strong-ish money for a 728 and the fact that it has Beijing Central Tyre (BCT) 08's on it don't inspire much confidence on the previous owners willing to spend money.
I once sold a pair of those in 18's for less than £60...!

But a nice motor nonetheless.

Just another shameless plug for my own barge, which continues to attract zero interest, five weeks after going on sale in Shpock initially, then Car and Classic and Gumtree.....

https://www.gumtree.com/p/mercedes-benz/mercedes-b...

Should mention that I bought the car from Pistonhead member Turbohatchback, who is a frequent visitor to this page and was recently on here plugging his own A6 4.2 Quattro. So, if you don't believe me when I say the CLK is a nice car, just ask him!

I washed and polished it again today and if I may say so myself it looks nice in the sunshine.

They're criminally unloved and under-rated. Yours in particular looks smashing. Rusty silver four cylinders characterise the market, I suppose.

While wasting time—and on the subject of under-appreciation—I came across this wonderful Citroën CX brochure shot. It's been a while since we got worked up about a French.

I like that.

I saw a lovely red W126 500SEL yesterday which really made me miss my old one. And then today someone approached my wife while she was out in the 9000 Aero asking if it might be for sale...

+1

I've always really liked this shape CLK, a rust free one must be a rare thing indeed.

I have a car for sale at the moment, similarly it's well priced, absolutely naff all wrong with it, been looked after, advertised on eBay and autotrader to no avail - one or two timewasters but that's it.

I'm told the PH classifieds is quite decent but outside this forum I don't really know anyone who knows about it so I didn't bother, maybe it's worth a go though.

Best of luck anyway, someone will get a lovely barge no doubt.

Lovely. Hard to believe anyone wouldn't love the colours.

I've sold lots of cars over the years, and lots of them were Mercedes, but one of the ones I miss the most was the 190e; they really are wonderful old things.

Think my car viewer yesterday was a bit of a time waster....

Had a nose around, upon him asking a few questions it was clear he hadn't bothered to read my advert, he didn't even ask to see any service history, I took him out in it for a bit and he said "thanks, it's been a good 1st viewing, and good luck with the sale if I don't get in touch"

Just got the impression he just wanted to see what E65s were like (he has an E38).

But who knows.... I may be wrong but just got that sense....

Otherwise than the stone chips and odd signs that it's a 13 year old car, I can't see how one could fault it to be honest.... The interior is in very good condition, it runs very well, it's smooth, it's well serviced and doesn't need anything doing.....

We shall see!

Keep the faith. There's a buyer out there looking for the right E65 and having his time wasted with cars that aren't as described.

Ditto ^^

With the right wheels on that would be lovely.

Me too...one of my all time favourite BMW wheel designs.

Anyone taken a look at some of their other stock?!

I hadn't realised F355 had gone SO high? eek

Not sure that I would pay £20K for that other E38 728i either even with really low mileage. Nice cars (I drive one myself) but it's never going to be 'special' enough to command a truly collectable fee...7-Series never have been. I suppose one could say that with those miles one could expect to be able to easily drive it, as a good daily driver, for the next 10 years and then it would be relatively cheap luxury motoring? But who knows where cars, petrol, taxes etc. will be in 10 years? And wouldn't one get bored driving the same car for 10 years every day?

Having had a W208 CLK55 myself I can only agree that they are great cars that are massively undervalued. I've seen 55's go for as little as £2-3000. Sadly for you I think the market for V8's is tiny and the only way you'll shift it is by either holding out or dropping your price. Is it worth trying swaps/PX's to try and it get it moved on?

I almost gave up on my CLK55 but just as I was giving up I had an email asking for a swap on an E36 M3!
