Why are all the s classes in Ilford?

I went to look at one there recently but it's seriously put me off!!
Most things about Ilford put me off it.

Fantastic. Just soooo proper, with a colour spec that is neither gauche nor boring.

As nice as they get, for me.

I see this is back. Is it my imagination that it is more expensive?

My old headmaster smokes around the village in one just like that. 2.6 motor, Cosworth kit, chrome GB letters nailed to boot. He's had it from new, always sparkles no matter the weather. Still see him in the pub (bit like school) and often thought about making him an offer. Funnily my XJ's first and only other owner was my history teacher. Probably the only two people to do alright out of our secondary school.

I've seen that on here at least twice before. If they'd fix the seat and steering column that might help!

The barge gods have looked favourably on me this year, a no advisory MOT. clap Along with a plug change, been pleasantly cheap.

I may treat the car to a no expense spared clean, namely me with a bucket and a vacuum cleaner.

Quite, I find an MoT pass now something to celebrate. A 'no advisory' one I have not had for some years - perhaps next year?

Chaps, a much longer commute means that after 5 years of faultless barging I will be selling my MkIV LS400 with DHP in the next few months. Does the DHP still command a meaningful premium? I can't find any similar cars on the market to compare against for pricing purposes.

Lovely!

I think this car was for sale a while ago? I cannot remember what it was up for though

The DHP doesn't make it worth more in itself.

At the age it'll be condition and history will be the most significant factors.

There are decent ones changing hands for well under thread budget so don't get your hopes up :-)

It's an estate sale in Harrogate. The original owner's son had it up for sale on eBay several months ago, and evidently couldn't shift it. Now it's on sale through this dealer on a commission basis. Sounds like it's going a little frilly round the edges, and I think with the electrics fixed and the arches done it would sell easily enough, but he's looking for a 'prepared car' price.

Posting the details with some pictures wouldn't do any harm smile

Ok this Volvo T5 has been modified but it still looks in very good condition with a great service record.

£3,999 is pushing it but it should be trouble free motoring.

Sorry for the screen shot only picture. If people prefer just the link I can do that from now on. Tried everything to get a non screenshot of the car but it just comes up with a blank box. Bl**** Chromebook

Not a great map, and the injectors are off an X70R, which whilst an improvement, isn't exactly to write home about. NEXT!

E39 looks well and excellent value. I'd be interested to try a manual although I am liking the steptronic, that 5th gear and the manual mode make a big difference compared to the W124.

Every time I look at the 190E I find myself convinced it's a different colour.

Try immolating a large pile of hefty petrol receipts, in a discrete ceremony to the barge deities. It seems to work as well as anything corporeal. smile

My money is on 904 Midnight Blue, possibly the best colour for a Mercedes if you're prepared to keep it polished up.

I don't want to jinx it, but I've never actually had a car fail an MOT. Most have had no advisories but last year my car had one for an oil leak and some worn bushes, but this year was back to no advisories smile

Despite that, it's always one of those times you wish didn't come around!

I don't enjoy MOT time at all.

I'm looking for a barge at the moment and when checking MOT history some of those that pass do so with multiple advisories whilst others fail for a blown bulb.

I often get suspicious of dealers who sell a car with a new MOT as (although I've no evidence) I always think they have contacts who will turn a blind eye. Still, it's fun looking.
