Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 10]
Discussion
320 miles done yesterday in the w124 300e, 320 to do tomorrow. I'll probably be doing this every weekend for the foreseeable future. The w124 is so good at long distance compared to the 190. I have other mileage to do as well so I'm pleased it's still rusty as anything but mechanically strong. I might treat it to a service at some point though. Perhaps.
It's such a faithful friendly old thing.

Lovely cars, it's a shame big Volvo's have a whiff of the cholostomy bag or retirement home for most people.
Shame you can't spell colostomy Krikkit, going a bit senile....;)P

Feeling the need to vent. Just had my elderly neighbour at the door to tell me her husband has just bumped my car (r129). So went out to inspect it, Ffs he certainly has 'bumped' it. Dent and paint damage on the rear quarter including the bumper. They're a lovely old couple but when she said to me 'he doesn't see too well these days' I almost lost it. Thankfully it was a car and not a kid. Annoyed that it will be Monday before I can get it to the body shop for a quote, which I think will frighten them when they see it. Not a great start to the weekend!
...the 129 came back today, very happy with it...Edited by cat220 on Friday 24th June 18:11

Bought this today!
It's now sat on my drive.
This is my second S60, the first was a 2.4t auto.
This one is a lot quicker and the manual shift is far superior to the clunky A/W auto.
As before though the Hifi and seats (actually I think 'chairs' is a better description) are the stand out features plus the nice little convenience things like the parking ticket holder and pockets in the front of the seats.
Well done, looks like a lovely, good history car. If it had been nearer to me I would have been tempted. Enjoy! It's now sat on my drive.

Could I please direct thread beards (and anyone else with an opinion ) to my estate dilemma thread?

It runs about a £K above this thread's top limit....

Does an S60 count as a barge? I suppose if we've had every single remaining asthmatic 190E and the odd 3 series it's eligible

2005 2.4 T5 manual. It looks like it just came out of the factory (my cars always seem to end up looking like they just came out of a swamp) and he seems exactly the sort of owner you want to buy a car from. 310bhp remap to add some extra interest.

Beige-tastic. Looks well and must be quite the sleeper.

Are these as robust as the previous XF30 cars? For me, the ultimate indication of durability are those cars which the Arabs tend to hang onto. Out here in the UAE, there are still thousands of intergalactic XF30s kicking around, but comparatively very few XF40s.
And given that the average car out here will do well to see its fifth birthday, the fact that there are still plenty 15-20 yr old LS Lexi being driven in the manner the locals are accustomed to, is extremely high praise indeed.
Curious lack of current gen (XF40) cars though.

530i 130k, new BMW brakes all round
Cooling system and ccv done. Needs some bodywork and a few things sorting though.
I've replaced it with a v70 2.4 manual so need to sell it before I regret it!
