Three years comfortable motoring, in something a bit different, that won't give the impression that you're trying to impress, won't snap a cambelt and will probably be annoyingly faithful, for probably around £100 a month for the duration of it's remaining life, assuming you change the oil two times yourself and ask the scrap man to collect it when you're finished.
You'd have to actively not want to impress anyone to spend 4 grand on a car with styled to look like "generic car no. 2" from an insurance ad, with an interior by Aiwa and a V6 driving the front wheels.Luckily Subaru make the Legacy.

Given that a good similarly low-mileage W124 560 SEC would nowadays be on at twice that, I think the time is not far off when they get something like that money for it (providing everything works and it's not hiding any horrible secrets).
I agree that it will be a sought after car in years to come, but I think there's a while before 140s follow SECs, which have only recently come off the bottom of the price curve. If the car was there last year and it checked out, I would have bought it. We know we are marginal crack-pots swimming against the tide of three cylinder twin turbo hatchbacks on lease, and with no punter having come forward in almost 12 months, it's brave adding 35% to the sticker - but perhaps he knows his stuff and with a five digit price it appeals to the collector!Geekman said:
The problem I have with that 760 is that a facelift 750 can easily be had for less, and the facelift makes the entire car considerably better looking IMO. It's not as if the 750 would be lacking in power either.
They are not lookers I grant you but they are very thread i.e. Tremendous value tfor the amount of engineering that you get Biglips said:

I'm not sure if I've misunderstood here, but £100 a month for the rest of its life? I'd have to drive it for 40 years!I probably won't live another 40 years.
And yes, the Saab is utterly excellent

It's different. But you'd probably need to change your pants every time you got overtaken by a lorry rather than just worrying about oil changes.

They don't come more bargey than a 6 litre Mercedes Benz.
Looks like ownership may prove "entertaining" though

760 has 450bhp vs 367bhp....that's quite a considerable difference IMO.
Undoubtedly - my point is more that 367BHP still makes it a quick car, and to me at least the extra BHP doesn't seem to be worth the sacrifice in looks and running costs when compared to a facelift 750.Copied from Bargain Basement
