Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 10]

Haven't seen this one yet.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282208508728
Maybe a bit steep on the price but looks great in my eyes, seems to have a few things going for it too; 32s, nice colour, history, comfort seats and sensible miles.

Only a few really poor pictures, I am busier than a one legged man in an arse kicking contest at the moment, I have not even really looked at the car properly in daylight yet.
Please excuse the 'german' number plates, they will be going asap. The electric day to day car next to it is what enables me to run a V12 on other days!

Fantastic you bought it, hope the vibrating noise or rumble is nothing too serious.
Could I have first refusal when you come to sell ?
Oh and let's have some pics
No pictures yet as it has some stupid looking 'german' plates which ruin the look of the car. Also one odd alloy....Could I have first refusal when you come to sell ?

By Monday PM it will have a matching set of wheels and normal number plates, at this point I will post pictures. Based on the drive from Banbury to here yesterday evening I am impressed, I am reasonably sure it is as quick if not quicker than my sadly no longer with me SL55 AMG.

No reserve 750il with current owner since '99, it looks a good'un
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-BMW-750i-L-AUTO-DK-...
Looks nice, would love a 750iL but the "registered as green but has always been blue!" is putting me off. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-BMW-750i-L-AUTO-DK-...
Otherwise, it was a superb piece of engineering.
That engine, in that 5.4L form, is truely awesome. Way better than its 5.0 version. So powerful but so smooth...almost boringly so...it's that good.
In other news, the boot lock has decided to break on the S211 - IIRC another threadist was inflicted with this a short while ago? Interested to know how it was fixed!

Call me cynical but I'd wager one of his rootin' tootin' mates will end up buying it again.

Wow. I didn't realise how sought after these beasties are, way over thread budget with a few hours still to go.

They seem to only have become sought after and more valuable in the last 24 months or so, no one used to want them, I have had 2 good examples both of which cost me less than £1500 albeit a few years ago now. Fantastic cars and will be valuable in the future I think. I should have kept one of mine. Posted about a Merc a few posts up but decided to go with what I know. BMW's so I got another one. And thread concensus seem to be that an E39 is indeed a barge.
530 manual, again. This time in oxford green 2 with beige hide, would love green over black, but pickings were slim.

Interior should be easy enough to change over if you're really bothered

It required a new latch mechanism - a different part number suggested "improved" design. The motor could be heard running but it would not release - research suggests a gear strips, and there is talk of a fix using a replacement cog sourced from China, but I needed it fixed ASAP so £250 for the new unit from the local dealer. It took longer to unclip all the trim than change the unit which is secured by three Torx screws, one electrical connector and a Bowden cable. Edited by SuperHangOn on Sunday 23 October 20:13

Brilliant! I particularly like the driveway combination.
Agreed! I'm too lazy to check, but there should be a thread for who has the unlikeliest ownership combinations. Would be fascinating to know how many EV's and hybrids are offsetting a V8 or above The outcome is I really like it and at least 5 friends have since gone electric after being similarly impressed. The main benefits are levels of silence previously only associated with big luxury cars and realising just how tedious going to petrol station is. Zoe goes back in December and I am desperately seeking an electric commuter car to replace it for a few years whilst my Tesla model 3 gestates.
