The SEC does look awesome. I do agree about a few details just keeping it from perfection. I'd love to a Euro focussed overhauling where the end result just looked to most people like a standard restoration, but with all the little bits 'fixed'.

Glorious.
that is incredible. For some reason those were my absolute favourite car in the mid 80s. Bit sad that the current owner apparently won't even pay £50 to have the air con regassed... typical alarm bell geezer.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1987-LANCIA-THEMA-8-32-/...

Any thoughts on this? To my eye, great colours and a rare manual T5. But moon miles and the dealer's photos are sorely lacking. Buy it and spend another grand getting the wheels refurbished, a full detail and replacing any missing trim (e.g. the mirror)? MOT history doesn't seem to show any horrors;

At that mileage and money I'd be looking for a full service history. Too much money IMO. Perhaps at £1250 it would be more attractive. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-Volvo-V70-2-4-T5-SE-5...

The restorations they do at that place are jaw dropping, especially the odd gulllwing they have floating about I would imagine some of the resto's run into the hundreds of thousands.

I must admit I used to drive my boss's 190 2.0 back in the day and wondered what the fuss was about. I know, burn the heretic and all that, but much much later drove a Merc Specialist's nail loaner and viewed it with much more affection.
Having owned several new back in the day, they were indeed hewn from granite in comparison to other cars, it was never sold as a zippy mid range car, its ride/handling in the day was were fabulous compared to lots of others, virtually as good as the high end models Mercedes sold. Sure it rolled and was a bit slow but those issues were far out weighed by others.Yes, the 200cc extra cc do make a difference, its all about gearing and power delivery which are better in the 2.0 car.
