For a really REALLY good time, move your mouse quickly between the 3rd and 4th picture thumbnails.

Made me laugh anyway.

I am on the port tonight.
That's either a tiny car or a bloody huge croquet lawn.

Mine predate the much needed Tata investment.

Having said that, I very nearly bought one of these

And probably still will. It was properly comfortable yet utterly bonkers.

I am definitely not going to that auction to avoid temptation, but 'drives like a rocket ship' should just about do it for anyone that would otherwise do something foolish.

Those bonnet gaps look excessive too.

Yes, the 320si. That was horrendously unrealiable, the delicate handbuilt motorsport-derived engine (built by Sauber) had a poor reputation due to the potentially fatal failure of the engine block. 500 made

I do like physical buttons over a lot of the modern stuff.

I never really understood the criticism some cars got for it, I'm thinking previous generation Jaguars especially, although perhaps I'm in the minority.

People should see what a different kind of Jaguar looks like and ask if the dashes were really that crowded biggrin

I replaced the bonnet star on the A124 today; what an easy and pleasurable job that was. As a chap with, it would be fair to say, limited mechanical ability, I like simple jobs that I can do myself. Quick scan of a You Tube tutorial and all of a sudden I'm a mechanical maestro.

Collecting the pre-ordered part from my local MB Main Dealer was an experience though. 20 minute wait - in fairness I was given a coffee - in the showroom as staff rushed around looking after prospective punters and, as I saw, actual buyers, on a (week-long) Black Friday event. Black fking Friday in a car showroom; is nothing sacred? I'm not sure if 2 grand off list is a good deal or not, but there were discounts to be had.

The new range is impressive in so many ways, but apart from a second hand AMG SLS at just under a hundred thousand, there was little there I'd ever want to spend my own money on.

MB Newcastle sell & post any parts you need via eBay.

I was well chuffed to discover this as visiting the local dealer is a scary experience due to parking nazis prowling the street. If I just need to pop in for 1 second to collect a part, it is virtually guaranteed they will be searching the depths of the computer system for a part which doesn't exist or arguing with a customer who barely speaks English. Not fun.

Inchcape (Oxford I think) do it too, but the problem is that postage made it more expensive and as the dealer is only a couple of miles away I thought I'd pop in. I hadn't realised that there would be a 'VIP event' on. Got the MB Club discount so cost was £28.

This car might look humble but it will change your life. Vendor assures so.

Its' life-changing properties, along with a flamboyant mirror-dangly, plus the fact that it's in Bradford, makes it something of considerable desirability.

There is a certain satisfaction on doing these small jobs yourself. I've yet to replace a bonnet star, many years ago some scum bag ripped one off my w124, I popped into the local main dealer to buy a replacement, only to be asked for the keys as the wanted to move the car, given a coffee then 10 mins later the keys were handed back, returned to the car to find the new bonnet star fitted. All for £15. I've used this dealer ever since. (Mercedes Benz Giffnock)

Well done CDG.

I was incredibly proud of changing the front speakers on the W124 a few weeks back.

I failed to change the xenon light level sender last night. I managed to snap the threaded studs that hold its bracket to the chassis. One for Lord Baister on Wednesday, I think.

I did manage an oil and filter change.
