Car trends that you hope die

Thinking about it, I wouldn't mind if the 'casual amateur' drift scene went away- For me it combines two things I hate; Garish liveries and irreversibly ruining affordable older rear wheel drive cars especially the more powerful, manual gearbox and often LSD-equipped variants.
All this for what, some half arsed scenester to make smoke and noise with it until it ends up in a concrete barrier or a con rod makes a bid for freedom through the engine block.
I personally don't have time for proper competitive drifting either, but at least it doesn't claim quite so many old, affordable and / or rare cars as the drift scene crowd whose drifting is mostly restricted to motorway roundabouts.
I kinda know what you mean, I used to love watching the grass roots Japanese drifting where groups would just drift the mountain roads at night or tear up Ebisu all weekend, I even like their competitive stuff with legendary drivers and typically crazy commentators. All this for what, some half arsed scenester to make smoke and noise with it until it ends up in a concrete barrier or a con rod makes a bid for freedom through the engine block.

But the westernisation of it has lost my interest to be honest. The competitive scene seems to mainly be Mustangs in energy drink liveries, and every kid with a Facebook page and MOT-failure E36 is a weekend 'skidder' / Motorsport engineer.

Yes, I love people who generalise about others only to then get a bit sniffy about their own car. It's ironic, and you can't beat a little bit of that. It's not me quoting power figures from an old Volvo
When did I get sniffy? Just pointing out a fact. You got a problem with that? You seem very excitable. Inferiority complex kicking in?

You're the only one to mention the supercar speed of your car, so I'd say you have the inferiority complex justifying how quick your Volvo is!
Do you struggle badly with reading? Retarded or just dyslexic? If you think neither then please quote where I said my Volvo was anything other than a barge that is faster than a 330d (which is no big achievement). My car is indeed also certainly much slower than hundreds of other cars. And if I needed to be the fastest thing on the road I wouldn't have picked a Volvo.
Or perhaps you just enjoy just making up bullst like a child?

People who buy post 2000 Peugeots, and then drive them incredibly badly with zero observation or anticipation.
I hope they get phased out.
The pugs will disappear soon enough, pretty much anything after the 106/306 has been naff to say the least, and has had very little uptake with enthusiasts AFAIKI hope they get phased out.
The drivers though... sadly there will always be plenty of "cars are white goods" people out there.

what about the RCZ?
Bought by the same sort of people who wandered in for a 308CC, they are off the radar for most enthusiasts. The RCZ R is the exception, but it only comes in the horrible facelift, twin moustache design.AH33 said:

But you have a Citroen Diesel and a Corsa VXR - neither are held in particularly high regard.

Little hypocritical don't you think?Perhaps a good trend to die would be people with not exactly stellar cars themselves mocking others choices
Criticises fellow PHer for mocking other's people's choice of cars.
