Those stupid single fog lights that come on as the car turns - appears to be mainly VAG models.
What on earth is the purpose of them?
It might be foggy around the corner. What on earth is the purpose of them?
They work well on wife's Tiguan - can see the edge of our drive when turning in. When reversing in the dark they both come on, which seems somewhat pointless.

Black headlinings.
It's like driving in a cave!
I think it's rather nice actually. I've gone from white (ish) to black and I much prefer the black. It's like driving in a cave!
Threads like this on here always remind me of why I really like Pistonheads; I'm half expecting someone to pipe up - (no pun intended) - and say that they could do without this new-fangled "syncro-mesh" rubbish...

Really?
So giving people a choice of a regular run of the mill car with the same performance as something supercar-esque from 20 years ago is a bad thing?
You can still buy n/a big engines cars, you just have more choice.
You don't remember the mid to late 90's when there were no bloody fast everyday cars due to insurance and chav theives?
And what about the fast turbocharged cars from the 80's and 90's that everyone salivated over such as the RS Escort Cosworth, 5 GT Turbo, Audi Quattro, Skyline?
Bit of perspective needed.
That isn't the problem per se. The problem is that lets face it 300+ HP is a lot of power. As you've mentioned it was super car power not that long ago. You can put that kind of power into a tiny econobox or even into entry/mid level coupes but very few understand how to control that power. Ultimately all of it controlled by the electronic nannies. If not everyone would slide out and crash. So what we're paying for with these cars is mostly the software.
If you want 300+HP and no way to slide out unless you pay for the "drift mode" or "m-dynamic mode" options. Or even pay for a different class of car. Granted you can always disable the traction control but are many of these cars safe with that kind of uncontrolled power?
An 80s Lambo might be considering it was really engineered for it. But I wonder about today's cars. It seems like they put more and more power into them for marketing purposes and then have the electronics prevent you from using it.
