I absolutely love mine! The styling is not everyone's cup of tea, but why drive a hot hatch that looks like all the other dreary barges on the road? Loud and "shouty" is better IMO!
Ok its a mobile advert for the company I work for but that wrap will peel off one day leaving my cars paintwork all fresh and new (hopefully!!)
Off topic. I love Project Mu! I have your HC+ pads on my FD RX-7 and they have been great as a road/track compromise. Way better than Hawk and EBC equivalents and nice to my brake discs!Ok its a mobile advert for the company I work for but that wrap will peel off one day leaving my cars paintwork all fresh and new (hopefully!!)

At the time, I remember the UK motoring press giving the Integra a bit of a bashing for it's OTT racecar looks. Just imagine what they would have made to the monstrosity that is the Civic I love the DC2 by the way, a true giant slayer when well pedalled on the right road/track.
£33k for a front drive hatchback. Jeez. It is totally out of its league against the Golf R, Focus RS and even the BMW M135i for that money.
Renault too have got in the act of AWD super hatches and announced the next Megane RS with 300bhp+ and four driven wheels.
I don't even think the Honda can claim it is really a better drive or day to day experience than the Seat Leon 290 which looks like a bargain by comparison. Interesting to see how the extended test goes but I have been underwhelmed by the Honda ever since I laid eyes on it and heard about Honda desperately seeking a headline lap time. Instead of whether the thing was actually fun to drive on real roads and live with day to day....

Got to love negative opinions on forums. The answer is simple; if you prefer a golf R for its understated looks then buy a Golf R. Me, I like the OTT Civic and so purchased one of the first available and have done 7000 miles.
Observations on the plus side; fantastic seats, practical with plenty of space, lots of spec, track capability.
Negatives; fuel tank could do with baffles for track use, rear wheels sit in a bit too far for my taste, other road users trying to "prove" themselves (although this could be a positive as it's quite laughable really)!
Future values could prove interesting, as the upcoming Civic replacement will mean only a short production term for the Type R. You never know, they may even become sought after!

In terms of performance, don't be so sure - these things are no slouch in a straight line, or in the twisties.Renault too have got in the act of AWD super hatches and announced the next Megane RS with 300bhp+ and four driven wheels.

Also, the non GT is £30,000, but still quite reasonably specced.

Steve Sutcliffe might possibly beg to differ following comparing the type R against M3 and RS3https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X3n7zhb7aN8

And the EP3 also looked very boy-racerish when it was launched with what were for the time big spidery alloys, decals and a spoiler - we just got used to it.otolith said:

Well thats a lot of rubbish, the main comment when the ep3 was new was that it looked like a small people carrier or bread van, hardly boy-racerish.stewartcampbell said:

You have to compare them to the utter blandness of contemporaries like mk4 Golf GTI and Focus ST170.
