LG G5 or Samsung S7?
Discussion
Finally new contract date is here!
I was all set to order the S7 Edge, and then saw an advert for the LG G5. I'm torn!
Important for me is (in no particular order): Battery life, camera, ability to add SD card, swappable battery. I am a gadget fan, and the idea of the LG 'friends' (swappable components) really appeals.
Phone is on expenses, so price isn't so important. The outgoing phone is a Samsung S5 which I've been very happy with. Moved to Android after 3 iPhones.

May be worth waiting for the HTC 10 to be announced on Tuesday.

Did you decide?
I had a look at both and the S7E looked great but just a bit long. The S7 is about the same as the G5.
I previously had a G2 so went for the G5.
Is it worth doing a full restore of the apps or just re-installing as per need?
Just bought a G5 from Vodafone as they are givingthe camera module away too. Very nice phone so far, especiallythe camera's.I had a look at both and the S7E looked great but just a bit long. The S7 is about the same as the G5.

I was looking at the G5 but went for the S7 edge. The LG friends look like a good idea but the camera attachment is only a couple of buttons,a battery and a zoom disk rather than an optical lens and I'd have no use for the B&O friend. I think it won't catch on tbh. The edge screen is amazing and the battery life is brilliant.
The HTC 10 worth another mention, getting excellent reviews, especially after the latest camera update.

I'm thinking that'll be my next phone. I'm a little disappointed in the G5, I think it needs time and/or another generation to make the most of the modular bit at the bottom as well as the cameras not being what I expected. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/apr/27...
I have an S6 at the moment and it's put me off Samsung for a while, the construction and hardware is fantastic but Touchwiz is still a steaming pile of wk compared to other manufacturers versions of android. I'm sure they've made it better again for the S7 but I'd rather not take the risk.

I did decide - and went for the Samsung S7 Edge. Loving it
At first I was ready to send it back, as when you're holding it you can prevent the touchscreen working properly. One handed use (ie gripping with fingers and using thumb to navigate/type was impossible).
All fixed with a legit Samsung case, the one with the window.
Now I'm loving it. Apart from the fast charge wireless pad. Seems to suck battery out...
