Chevrolet cobalt Ss. The 4 door version is harder to find than the coupe. 260bhp, fwd, lsd, brembo brakes, launch control, no lift shift and trick suspension. The cobalt ss held the fwd production car record on the nurburgring before it was beaten by one of the track meganes.

Some interesting cars in this thread. I've not much to add except to say my dad had a 4-door Civic VTi as posted by the OP; it was a great car, bonkers little engine and although I never drove it, it seemed like an engaging car to drive. Unfortunately it was pinched off our driveway one evening by some scrotes

From what I remember, a 200 Turbo quattro (in Avant form anyway) was even more expensive than a Quattro 20v back in the day
Yeah, dont think there was much in it, the 200 was a proper exec, top of the range 4wd car, it made a pretty capable rally car in its own right,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJki2l6nwiI
However, whilst the quattro will always be the icon, the 200 has its place, they are still fairly cheap and a nice one is still a fine thing, with a few mods they can produce some big power, they arent all that heavy and for a barge, they seem pretty compact these days, I had a 100 of the same shape in the early nineties and loved it, I so wanted a 200, would still consider a good one now, so many variations and specs of that model line, very confusing.

There were only ever 3 mk3 g60 passats imported into the uk, all estates. One was written off in an accident about 2 years ago, another was done up really nicely in Audi nimbus grey but the synchro gearbox blew up and the car was stripped. I have the tinted rear lights from it on the back of my b3 Passat. so there's only one left on uk soil. Rare wagons indeed!
I guess we have another B3 devotee on here then. I have some lovely darkened VR6 lights on my wagon, as well as an original G60 Passat key... It's only a 8v GT wagon though so not as rare...Some of the stuff on this thread I have had a go at, the Fiat Marea inline 5 was a thing of beauty, still wish I could easily get a decent Brazilian Marea Weekend 5cylinder Turbo.
The Toledo V5 (golf mkIV chassis) was a bit of a meh thing in my experience. The engine was a peach, if a bit thirsty for it's 170bhp. The rest of the car was more grand tourer than any kind of handling machine. Bored me to death and robbed me of cash for petrol. I'd have that V5 in my B3 if I could though
I remember seeing the Tomcat vs Vento VR6 races at Mallory Park, you wouldn't have thought they were quite so well matched but they really were a good watch (though at the time I was more of a Tomcat fan due to my dad having one).
And the Audi 200 (or 100 or S4 etc) sounds incredible with the 5 pot turbo:

I still quite like the Subaru Legacy 3.0 R spec B in terms of not being all that obviously quick. Not as quick as the Jap spec STI models but I still like the idea of a flat 6 manual 4wd motor... Stick a decent exhaust on it and I'll bet they sound incredible.
