That's a 4 seater coupe and I complain it's too heavy.
But it seems the trend to compare the 350/370z's with 2+2 coupes. And while you may complain it's too heavy, I bet you'd struggle to find a PH/car mag article that does.If the E46 M3 weighed 1000kg would that still be the case ?

Remind me why is an E30 M3 worth so much more than the E46 M3 ?

Ok I'll remind you as you have obviously got it wrong... If the E46 M3 weighed 1000kg would that still be the case ?
1. It was the first.
2. Rarity.
3. Aimed at a different sector.
4. Long ago reached the bottom of it's depreciation curve, while the e46 is still dropping because it's a relatively modern car. If you look back at e30 values when they where this age they were also worth bugger all.
5. Age.
Basically, price/value has nothing to do with either of these cars kerb weights.

Exactly. All Japanese cars I have seen do not hold up well to UK weather and if they haven't been weather sealed properly with dinitrol or something equivalent then they rot sooner rather than later.
Actually, all cars regardless of make seem to do this over here unless they are completely aluminum or carbon fibre.
My 350Z was 8 years old, 40k miles, no rust to speak of on the body, little bit of surface rust on the bracing bars underneath, rust doesnt seem to be a major issue with Nissan zeds from my experience.Actually, all cars regardless of make seem to do this over here unless they are completely aluminum or carbon fibre.
The E46 M3 unravelled itself and rusts much worse than the Nissan, Mercs of a certain vintage rot for fun, Japanese cars fare no worse, possibly better, Mazdas being an exception.
