What is this about it being a "Fake Taxi", looks like a real one but isn't registered as such, it is just a private car in effect ?

A group of friends and I bought an FX4 to take to Le Mans a while back.
www.lemans-or-bust.com if anyone's interested.
It was a comedy experience and there were some great times (being handed a beer from an adjacent Skyline while flat out at 56mph was one of them) but as a long term prospect? Hell no.
In no way pleasant to drive - I accept that may have been because ours was knackered, but I don't think it was all down to that!
Cheers,
Tom

Great shed, definitely something different. I'm surprised Fake Taxi wasn't hinted at in the write up. Surely Mr Shed has spent many an hour viewing such videos in order to avoid Mrs Shed.

If only it gave better mpg, it'd be a really practical run around.

Doesn't Michael O'Leary have a registered London taxi so that he doesn't have to repeatedly pay the congestion charge and he can use the bus lanes?

Just turn the yellow light off so you don't have to pick up fares and it could be a worthy commuter vehicle.
Not in London, but in Dublin. He is also making a profit from it.

I suppose I could shoe-horn a Skyline lump and drive train in/under it? That could be the ultimate sleeper in the metropolis.

Another actual shed.

This one is diesel powered and has 4 wheels.

Terrible ride, and surprisingly noisy.

OK around London as long as you stay below 25mph. Otherwise avoid.

SOTW has dropped in quality recently. This picks up the interest factor, but not the 'I would buy' factor. Better than a bum basic saab or something, but SURELY you can find something more interesting for a grand?

It's now sold. My plan was to install a bar and plonk it at the end of the garden as a general sitting area. Shame.

He had a Mercedes "taxi" that was his personal car in Dublin to be able to use the taxi lanes.

I suppose it might mean you could use bus lanes with impunity....

A guy I knew back in the late 80s had one and he was forever getting people trying to get in the back if he drove through town on a Friday or Saturday night.
