So, in your experience, what have been the easiest and hardest OEM wheels to clean/keep clean?

Easiest from me were AU Falcon XR8. Flat surfaces and only 5 spokes.

Next easiest were Audi Avus, as on S4.

Hardest were Sierra Cosworth. Too many nooks and crannies.

Only marginally better were Ford Fairmont.

Despite the latticework, SDI Vitesse wheels were surprisingly easy to keep clean.

I'm guessing there are some that are easier than my examples and loads that are more difficult. Over to you.

The 4 spokes (as below) on the Fiat Coupe I had were pretty easy to keep clean:

You are going to tell me that those things I rabidly didn't want anywhere near my Golf are now worth a fortune aren't you?

By far and away the easiest for me have been the 15" Blaze alloys found on the Rover 200 coupe, a five spoke smooth curved surface -

The biggest pain in the bum so far have been the Wolfrace alloys (those that looked vaguely similar to those fitted to AMG C class cars cira 2007) fitted to the Merc when I bought (and sold) it. Looked quite good in brake dust anthracite -

The 19" ones fitted to the 159Ti come a close second though as they're a similar kind of design.

Nope, still don't want them. But thanks for the heads up. Next time the missus curbs the wheels on her car she can have some of these. See if she takes more care of teddy

The lovely wheels on a Focus ST170. 15 spokes on each wheel, so 60 spokes per car. Took longer to clean the wheels than it took to wash and dry the rest of the car.

Anyone ever tried wheel wax / sealant? Does it make it considerably easier to clean the wheels, and prevent brake dust from sticking?

Do you go for early mid or late stream? Is it consistently better than wheel cleaner?

Easiest wheels for me so far are the 20" "Volans" Jaguar do:

Not fiddly and no real "sharp edges" from the face to the side of the spoke.

These on the Megane 250 were a right pain. Too small to get your hands into the gaps to really clean them, and the nooks at the edge of the wheel always managed to hide more dirt!
