The ones on my D2 are pretty easy to clean.

Not the best picture but I think they're these ones.

Easy to clean in between the spokes etc.

These are on my SL at the moment and are dead easy:

These are easier than you'd think as well:

But these just had to be the easiest ever. Just spit in their general direction and they were clean!

Yep, utter ball ache. Must find a better sealant to make it easier in future. Look nice though!
Slightly OT, but have you got one of these?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Alpina-wheel-hub-cov...

Really useful for removing and fitting the centre-caps, as takes the pressure off the lock. Seller was decent to deal with too when I bought mine
Funny you say that because I have got one that came with the car but I had no idea what it was for. Thank you for enlightening me. Should help a lot.

The ST170 ones are a real pain, 15 spokes and lots of edges for dirt to sit in. Look great when they are clean mind.

Easiest must be off of a mate's corsa in the early 90s.

I hated these, Bit of a twist on some spokes - meaning nice narrow channels where the spokes met.

Now have these to tend to once every five or six months. Much better.

These were by far the easiest wheels I've had on a car to clean.

Twists on my 996 are super easy to keep clean... smooth finish, and the gap between the spokes is big enough to get your hand through to clean the inner surfaces.

Got the same "Twists" on my RS2 and they are easy to keep clean.

E46 MV2 ? Looks suspiciously like it and I concur, I hated doing them on mine. The multi-spoke alloys on the previous Mondeo ST were a nightmare too. I don't enjoy cleaning them on my current Focus ST either but that's more because the car and wheels only get washed once per year.

Fiesta Zetec around 1997 to 2002 had lovely 4 spokers which were really easy to clean and didn't usually corrode unlike the car itself. Design was simple and with gentle curves. The new angular and laser cut "look" wheels now fashionable are going to be future headaches. New car buyers will no doubt be familiar with alloy "insurance"

Try cleaning the front wheel on a motorbike with twin discs, total PITA, as I have a single sided swing arm on my bike I find it easier to remove the rear wheel to clean it.

Saucy AND dead easy to clean. Bloody strong, too. 308mm brakes fit under there as well.

Wire wheels on my E-Type are a pain to keep clean. I'm thinking about getting a set of Dunlop steel wheels because they'd be way easier to clean, and they look cool.
