Considering how simple / agricultural it is, I dont understand why its so heavy. Surely dropping 200kg or so would make it a much more serious weapon.

As for the Monaros and VXR8s of the world, I hated them back in Aus, where petrol was cheap and roads were wide. What hope does anything similar have here in the UK?

Too big, too fat, too loud. Typical american.

It says "Torque: 391@4,250rpm (with overboost)"

"Overboost"?

I don't like the Custom Pack 19" wheels personally, it makes it look as if it is trying to look like an Aston Martin. I did find a picture of a car that had been delivered in America which seemed to have a different style 19" 6 spoke wheel on it (from the factory) which looked a lot nicer, but I haven't managed to locate it again. I also prefer the red rear light clusters to the white / clear ones, I'm assuming red may be US spec? As I couldn't see any options for this on the Ford website when customising spec.

What makes you think it's simple/agricultural?

Saw one of these out in the wild the other week near Andover.

Just found this (admittedly not great) picture of it via google:

That's Centurion07s car.

Aston Martin? Tenous I'd say, though perhaps more so in Magentic (grey).

I went for Deep Impact Blue (fnaar). Not very flattering pics of it though as I'd just dropped it from axle stands so it's riding like an SUV here!

We have really boring Euroboxes here in the UK. Millions of them, mostly in white with teeny-tiny diesel engines. Monaros and VXR8s of this world make life a life a little more bearable and now we have this. Well done Ford I say.

Yeah, Ruby red is the best colour they were offering when we had a look, looks even better in sunlight.

Also, whats this "Agricultural" business, it has a modern V8, multi link suspension, lots of electronics, in what way is say a BMW or Audi a veritable technological tour de force in comparison ? dioes the Mustang have a Power take off and a range of threshing implements available or something ?

Most of the German stuff uses the actual agricultural fuel (diesel) so is more akin to a Massey Ferguson than the Ford is.

Is it is because it is Rear Wheel Drive, I thought that was PH approved, is it because you cant get a Mustang with 4WD, is it because it is missing turbochargers and is NA, I thought we liked that, or is it prejudice at the Ford badge in reality ? or maybe some of the plastics arent quite as premium ?

Whatever the engine the image thing will remain a big factor for many. Slavish impressions of Americana from the Rolling Stones up are an occasionally embarrassing English fixation. And to some a Mustang on a British high street or B-road is as absurd as Mick Jagger getting a knighthood for a lifetime pretending he's born of the Deep South, not merely south of the river.
One of several elements of journalism in this article. A pleasure to read in this day of hasty-and-sufficient blog posts.

It is hard to compare the Mustang to anything Europe has to offer. It can only really be compared to other "American Muscle" offerings. With the steering wheel on the right side (pun intended) for the first time, and at THAT PRICE it really has little competition in the UK. If you are the sort of person that is going to like the Mustang then the Mustang is a hell of a lot of car for the money. It has a lot of presence and with the proper suspension now fitted there probably isn't much of an excuse for someone who likes them not to shell out and buy one! V8 only of course for us petrol heads :-)

Love these, hope to be in a position to order one in the next few months.

Totally accept they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but anyone with just a smidge of petrol in their veins has to be pleased that Ford have taken the bold step to produce these in RHD.

You can follow an interesting chap as he receives his new Mustang GT in the Netherlands. The boat is just now arriving.

PH user kapiteinlangzaam has opted for an aftermarket exhaust. He appears to have an extensive knowledge of the distinctions between the EU and US versions of the car. See his thread in the "Readers' Cars" section of the forum, here.

Dream Garage car. Right there.

Honeymoon in two weeks - will pick up a convertible 'Stang at LAX and head out into the desert.

Doesn't sound like even a quarter of the event if I'd have booked an Audi A5. And that is exactly what this car is about - running with a different herd.

I've driven the V8 recently in the States for approximately 900 miles. I wouldn't necessarily agree with the comments regarding the noise, it sounded more than enough on startup to me without the need for modification, that is unless you are 17 and love seafront towns.
The American exhaust will be different as Euro cars have to pass noise tests.
When they imported the camaro Z28 back in 1998, the dual exhuasts gave way to a single pipe with a big back box.
The Euro Mustangs lose a mite of power due to RHD fittings interfering with the manifold.

Overall, it probably doesn't matter because the Mustang is selling like hot cakes, both here and in Germany and is the world's best-selling coupe.
Ultimately, it is clear that people prefer a cheap 400-oddhp V8 to a plusher diesel taxi - hardly unexpected.
The interior isn't anything to write home about but clearly, nobody really cares.
