The 2005-on V6 was a car built down to a price.
It had no LSD, smaller brakes and wheels with tall tyres and didn't even have a rear sway bar until the Pony pack came along.
It is not particularly quick, given the car weighs about 1600kg with a driver and the stock suspension is both high and soft.
It was a cruiser.
However, for sheer bloody style, it had few equals.
Younger drivers can get them insured.
They can be polished and taken to shows and people still say "Wow"

'Kin hell I returned to this thread to see some reasonable discussion about the merits of the relative bargain which the new Mustang is and alk you lot can do is bicker about a car that was never sold here.

FWIW I had a hand in designing updates for the Cologne V6 back in the early 90s and it was pretty dire then.

I don't deny a Focus may well run rings round a stock V6. But the Focus is smaller and lighter. And makes marginally more power.

But none of this means the V6 was or is a slow or bad car. Of course newer models are more powerful and quicker, but that's true of almost any car range.
The mustang is RWD... That automatically makes it better, even if it is a boat anchor V6
