Do people have a "£200 snotter" tucked away for this kind of thing or do they buy one in for each incident.

Is there a source specifically for £200 snotters with MOT?

I think i will get one just in case.
biglaugh Beat me to it! The internet hardmen are so funny biggrin
Scrap dealers. I've had a £300 Passat that I ran for a few months, and a £300 BMW730 complete with oil leak.....both had 5months MOT smile
Sometimes you have to bite the bullet....unless you payed more attention at school laughlaugh
I'm just laughing at the thought of buying the snotter, the problem goes away, sell the car, problem comes back, buy a new one, and repeat.

The obvious thing is that Gary should talk to his bloody neighbours.

All it needs is a bit of goodwill and common sense.

Don't raise a dispute and move if you can.

You're under the illusion that a lot of neighbours will have common sense.
Been there, done that, the sort of people who cause these problems are not the sort who will sit down around a nice cup of tea and sort everything out nicely.

I'd put my pickup to good use and drag the offending car away down the road. wink

He could set his house on fire, then watch the fire brigade plough through the obstructing cars.
What could possibly go wrong?

A chap last year did attempt it, but in winter, and possibly not a great area. I'm in a little village on the coast surrounded by fields so much better conditions...

Plus, another PHer did it again, with a single sausage, and damage was extensive thanks to a badger - who kept coming back and digging nearby to see if there were more!
I missed that - brilliant!

At our old house the neighbours parked everywhere, at the bottom of the shared drive just so they could literally open the door of the car and take one step to the house, higher up the drive so we couldnt physically get out, (we all need to reverse onto the shared drive) on the pavement outside of our house and when getting short on room or if people visiting then just right over the shared drive entrance - We used to knock on the door once a week and you just got a mumbled 'sorry' while they moved car(s) - Still kept doing it though dispite the inconvenience to us both, we even did it at 7:00 AM and after 10:30 at night.

Point to the story - Some people are just plain wkers - Thankfully they moved.

Why doesn't Gary just nuke his cul-de-sac from orbit?

Let's assume Gary has a nuke. All he would do is photograph the launch button and then whinge to the council, police and tabloids to try and get someone else to press it. biggrin

The last time someone blocked me in (when I was driving a Transit) I simply engaged reverse gear, and released the clutch, while applying pressure to the throttle pedal. I can confirm that a now-vintage Transit can displace a Renault 5 laterally, as far as necessary to enable said Transit to leave its parking spot.

It's OK, no badgers near me.

Plenty of gulls, foxes, hedgehogs and cats though...
