In that cul de sac do they HAVE to park there? Why not park 10ms away with no hassle? I live on a dead end and I'll leave the car up the road regularly. Are people that territorial and bone idle?

If the police say it's nothing wrong just buy a couple of bsngers and do the same to his drive just leave them there 24/7 they will get the message.

Exactly as a few people have mentioned i would just park where the red arrow is and return the favour. They will soon get the idea.

Brake fluid in a spray bottle. A slight fine mist over a localised area will do the trick.
Of course it will until the coppers turn up and put 2 + 2 together after seeing that certain individuals cars weren't targeted.

Come off it.

don't understand why they didn't use the space more efficiently by creating a car park with marked/allocated bays rather than waste space trying to keep the individual garden spaces.

As for the guy boxed in, whats the law on pranging some tosspots car when exiting? I knew a old boy who left a few cars a reminder by way of his banger of a mk2 cav after they'd park opposite an access lane making egress extremely difficult, he reckoned plod would take a view that the lousy parking was contributory if they tried to pursue him for damage.

Not a nice situation at all but as usual PH is populated with people who make out they are a cross between Rambo, Clint Eastwood and Arnie.

Saying ohhh I'd be buying a tank/bulldozer/Tow truck/£200 snotter and demolishing my way through.

Internet hardmen rule!!

The reality is most will stick a note on the windscreen, perhaps let down a tyre in the dead of night then post on PH about how they dealt with things by using petrol and a flamethrower.

The BS on here is palpable.

I agree, but I was highlighting the point that it's perfectly legal to park across a drive if nobody is on it!
But unless your workmate's neighbour's drive is illegal, then surely Rule 243 of the highway code kicks in?

Rule 243
DO NOT stop or park:

near a school entrance
anywhere you would prevent access for Emergency Services
at or near a bus or tram stop or taxi rank
on the approach to a level crossing/tramway crossing
opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space
near the brow of a hill or hump bridge
opposite a traffic island or (if this would cause an obstruction) another parked vehicle
where you would force other traffic to enter a tram lane
where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles
in front of an entrance to a property
on a bend
where you would obstruct cyclists’ use of cycle facilities except when forced to do so by stationary traffic.

Gary hasn't talked to his neighbours. Gary doesn't want to follow the standard mediation route. Gary hasn't followed the council instructions for collecting evidence. But Gary does go to the council then ignores what they ask him to do. Gary does then go to the police but ignores what they ask him to do. Gary has now gone to the tabloids.

Obviously his neighbours are being bell ends but Gary seems to be a complete tt who actually doesn't want to fix the issue using any of the means that have been put in place to help protect people who get stuck in this situation.

If Gary isn't even willing to attempt either of the routes to resolution as laid out by the council or the police then Gary really should just shut the fk up, suck it up and stop wasting tax payers money and civil servants' time.

You resort to the tabloids when all official routes have failed not because you just can't be arsed to follow them to try and help yourself. Lazy, tt, pansy victim who is as much an arse as his neighbours.

You've got it all wrong, silly.

We're being mad max today.

Although I've done the "dump it blocking them all in then fk off indoors and wait for them to get pissy", in mateys shoes I'd dump a £200 snotter I "happened to be driving" then fk off down the pub.

Do people have a "£200 snotter" tucked away for this kind of thing or do they buy one in for each incident.

Is there a source specifically for £200 snotters with MOT?

I think i will get one just in case.

Aww, bless your cotton socks. smile
And yes - I really would be parking something heavy and immobile blocking their access.

What is the note on the windscreen going to achieve?
They read it and have an epiphany that they have been parking selfishly and inconsiderately after all this time.
A note is for a once off type incident.
The neighbours know what they are doing.

If you have space for 1 car - learn to live life with 1 car - or 2 smart cars that can fit in one space.
Or move to a place where you can park all of your cars without inconveniencing others.

A few points -

1) I'm pretty certain 'boxing' someone in is illegal, and the same applies to blocking exit from a driveway. If there is no car in the driveway to begin with, its not illegal.

2) Why does he even bother parking in his driveway when others clearly don't? I would leave my car in the same place as the neighbours and let them struggle to access their driveways instead.

3) Lets me honest, he's not going to start damaging other cars if he lives there with his family. Would you REALLY want to start something like that with what sound like scummy neighbours? He WILL be forced to move if he starts something like that. Nor will be park something immobile there as he won't be able to use the driveway himself? Do people really believe the BS hardman stuff they are posting up?

4) Maybe he should speak to a solicitor?

If only it were viable to be a car dealer specialising in £200 snotters that were road legal and MOTd etc, for just this type of situation.
