What the heck? The Polo's interior is virtually identical to the mk7 Golfs! So not sure how it could be worse than the mk6 Golf

Ok mate. You have the thickest rose tinted glasses I think I've seen on here for quite some time. You probably see a Golf R and think 'what a mug, I have 99% of his car for 2/3 of the price'.

There's also only about 40kg difference in weight. The MK6 GTi feels very light when driving! Even when the Polo nips off the line a bit quicker, I'll be sat there in a much nicer cabin. The difference of interior quality between the two cars is like night and day.

Did you map/modify the MK6?
Sorry, you want to have another look because the Polo and Golf Mk6 cabins are identical mate.

I spent about 6 months deciding what car I was going to get and spending night after night going over thousands of reviews of so many different cars so I'm sure I know what I'm on about.

Sure I could have got a better car than a Polo Gti but for what I wanted etc etc etc it was the right car for me.

Exactly Joe, you got what you wanted. Stop trying to tell everyone your Polo is better than other cars which are the class above, they're not.

The Fiesta ST is a better car, which is why the reviews reflect this, and why you see ST's daily, and hardly ever see a GTI.

Just by use of google, and the fact I own a fully loaded MK6 and have sat in the new Polo GTi I can quite clearly see that they are not. The Polo has a much cheaper feel and is half the size.
Lack of armrest and old school heater dials is the first thing that jumps out as a major difference in quality.

Someone's knocked you on the head then. To say the difference is night and day is frankly ridiculous.

Polo

Golf

Night and day? More like dawn and morning.

And don't forget, the Polo is half the size too...apparently.

Spot on mate. Shockingly Joe's interior looks nothing like the one you posted and also nothing like in my Mk6 GTi.

Good googling.

I didn't realise he'd started a thread on it with pics. Maybe that spec isn't as good as it could be then!

And yes, where else am I suppoed to find two pictures in the search for 'Polo GTI interior' and 'Golf GTI MK6 interior?' Damn it, you caught me! clap

That's the reason I mentioned it!

I will concede they look similar in the pictures you posted, but can't imagine any Polos get specced like that.

The only thing different about mine is mine has the tartan seats so it's more like dawn and a minute after dawn.

Now compare pics between the mk7 Golf and the Polo and they are almost the same right down to the infotainment system.

Yeah maybe not. I can't believe I've spent this much time talking about a Polo I don't care about and will never own laugh

Polo GTIs are crap and anybody who owns/drives/covets one is an abject tool.

And the cheap plastic surround of your screen, no leather seats, no sat nav, no heated seat, no dual zone climate control, no comfy arm rest. Other than that, yeah, they are similar.

I raced one (with my arm on the arm rest hehe ) and the Megane is a great car and sounds really nice! I'd have one if it was a second car, but as a daily it just feels too cheap inside.
