Those cars aren't small or medium sized. They are all large cars.
Just give it up and move on!
All of those are the smallest (or in Teslas case the medium size) four seater that manufacturer currently sells. Overall dimensions are now ignored apparently. So we are all good Just give it up and move on!

I think we are all on the same page about that.

Wow, you really lve spreading your idiocy.
Oh the irony In all honesty I've been on a wind up from the very beginning. I couldn't care less either way as hatches are not of much interest to me any longer. Been there and done it too many times. Although it has been very amusing watching you all fall over yourselves arguing it one way, then the opposite way, bending the rules and ignoring your own logic along the way. Anything to ensure a fat family car is granted hot hatch status

It seems the lap times were in the wet had it been dry I expect the Megane & Cupra would have been sitting at the top of the leaderboard.
Maybe not quite at the top but I agree with you, power can only go so far compared to a properly pointy chassis. A car around your typical dry track (ie with corners) will only be as quick as its front outer tyre grip. I would expect lap times of both the Seat or the Megane to be within a second of the heavier 4wd ubber cars.Really impressed by the Megane still making the top 10 as it was launched 8 years ago. The price for the last ones are far lower than £24k, even with most options put back on the Cup-S. If anything, it's more than £14k cheaper than the Focus RS, even with Recaros...
I can't wait for mine next month.

Seems a bit stupid to test them on a wet track then discount the slower FWD cars for the road test on that basis. That's the kind of pointless arbitrary nonsense that made me give up on Fifth Gear.
Surely in the UK a wet track is just as representative of real World performance as a dry track as the roads are wet half of the time.To even it out then an additional dry comparison would be ideal.

The Megane you quoted is the RB8, with 261 BHP, and the Cup-S has the same power as the Trophy, 271. Megane 14.28

What surprises me, is that all of the cars are the latest generation, say, the models themselves are less than 5 years old. The Megane is "Previous Gen", as it began back in 08.
So a chassis 8 years old, can still cut it among the latest and greatest hot hatches, and be had for less than 20k from a broker? It's a mighty impressive thing, and after owning one, anyone who says "they're too hard to live with" and "they're unreliable" is frankly, talking bks. I daily mine, and it's fine, it's no Lexus LS, but it's more than comfortable enough to daily. The Óhlins are great, the Akrapovic really adds to the fun element, and the Recaros are sublime.
IMO the perfect spec is:
Ohlins.
Akra.
Climate pack (Climate control and auto lights/wipers)
Recaro.
Keyless.
18's. The 19's make the car a lot firmer than it needs to be.
Spare wheel.
Flame red.
Fiddling on a broker site, you can get it for mid 20's. Not bad for a car that is almost as good as the Focus and the A45, but less than half the cost.
As said, a £300 map will see over 300hp, which will be more than a match for the new RS and A45.
