And the cheap plastic surround of your screen, no leather seats, no sat nav, no heated seat, no dual zone climate control, no comfy arm rest. Other than that, yeah, they are similar.
I didn't need any of those things. As for the satnav I didn't spend £700 and I just use the app connect for Google maps....armrest lmao

Have you even driven one or have you just been listening to the biased ST reviews. It's anything but bland.
Dunno why you've singled out the ST but I'll play. Biased? Yes they're biased to the best cars tested! The Polo is bland mate, VW's are always the bland choice but at least something like the Golf R has crushing performance.

Nice obscure link, must've taken some digging up. laugh

How would it run rings around it with its less power and torque, thinner tyres and smaller brakes?
The ST has more power despite having the smaller engine! As already explained, The ST has 200hp when you put your foot down (maximum power at maximum throttle, like all cars), that's why its advertised as 200hp in the states.

A basic chip on the Polo takes it to 230-240bhp no problems. Again more than the Mountune 215 kit
Again, these can be had from Pumaspeed, Revo etc. The Mountune upgrades are conservative as they're manufacturer backed.

JoeMarano said:
Why is it? Because the majority of reviews say so? Even the Clio gets blasted compared to the Fiesta and that's a better car too!
Yes because the majority of reviews say so! They are far more qualified to pass judgment than you so unless you have any evidence of a conspiracy, put your tinfoil hat away.

Polo GTIs are crap and anybody who owns/drives/covets one is an abject tool.

Next.
Blunt. But yes.

Why has this thread turned into the polo gti thread? It wasn't even in the YouTube video.

Best thread I've read in ages...

Soo many people trying to find the genuine middle ground of "dude, we get it, you love your Polo, it's a good car, it's just not as good as others" but somehow that isn't enough. And I thought me babbling on about my FiST was bad...

Now that you mention it:

If it helps, I have a Mountune Fiesta ST, COME AT ME BRO!?! wobble

Seriously though, on topic, I kinda thought the Cupra and Megane would've been a bit closer than that. I know they are in the dry but I guess if you can't get on the power in the damp then that's where they lose it.
That said, all of these on the same spec tyre, on a dry track with the same decent driver is something I'd really like to see (but never will).

Tell you what, to be an utter ttnozzle and compare a car from a different segment, let's try this:
A BMW 340i M sport wagon is £35k with 3000 miles and at 6 months old... Heavier, but more practical and "with a chip" who knows?! lol
