I have just tinted the rear windows of my car and it seems the previous owner has used scotch brite to remove bird poo from a window. (And a couple of other places on the bodywork which I have sorted).

Any ideas on how to remedy this?

I've read somewhere jeweller's rouge is good for getting scratches out.

For the window, a glass polishing kit off eBay or Amazon and a huge amount of effort, assuming the marring isn't too deep.

A second for jewellers rouge. I used it to get rid of scratches on the inside of the o/h's windscreen from scratches generated from a diamond ring, it was quite effective at minimising them and near eradicating them

And a a third.

I removed quite deep scratches on my new glass for my aeroscreens caused by a thicky glass-cutter. Do use a mop on a dremel or similar though as it will take you hours otherwise.

Just watch out if the scratches are anywhere in "line of sight" to the road,

as proper polishing out creates a slight "dent" in the surface

which could lead to lens-effects and distortions.

Silver metal polish (but not brass polish) can also be effective but is coarser than jeweller's rouge.

Be careful though, polishing away too much glass weakens it and can result in disaster. yikes

I used this.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001RAQGXC/ref...
comes with an attachment for the drill.
Worked on a scotchbrited area right in the line of sight on my screen.
