I've had some plywood laid down in by bathroom with the screwheads flush.

I think it makes sense to fill the heads just to rpevent any likely hood of those showing through the vinyl.

I am thinking either wood filler (which may be better should we ever need to taake the screwed up) or silicone which is a bit more fiddly but again you could get a drill bit in should you ever want to take it up.

ANy ideas?

Why don't you just duct tape them?

Tape showing through. Really?

You could always just use filler?

If the vinyls that thin then wont joins in the wood and allsorts show up, isn't there an underlay/membrane/plastic etc you can use?

If wanting to re-access the floor I'd use lightweight filler, proper wood filler sets like concrete and can be a nightmare to dig out

Mine are filled with vinyl adhesive, not sure why you would need anything else.

I would think you want to sink the screws below the surface of the ply and fill the remaining holes and also any joints you have in the ply. I am sure they will start to show through in a short time.

Kardean make a filler that allows filling into every groove and screwhead and is easily sanded smooth - http://www.dmsflooringsupplies.co.uk/skim-coat-5kg. I am sure there are other products (and available in something more reasonable than 5kg)

No link just a satisfied customer.

Thanks

We did this for our bathroom. Countersunk each screw so it was set slightly below the level of marine play sheets. Then a quick skim over each screwhead with decorators flexible caulk. That way it wouldn't be rock hard and could be dug out water if we wished, plus it would move with the wood when you stand on it. Now the vinyl's down, I can't feel any of the screws. I think we may have run a sander over the sheet joins, then done the same with decorators caulk. Can't feel them either.

If you use tape, use anti plas. The adhesive will not seep through it as is probable with any other. I know you can double sided anti plas but I am not sure about single sided.

All the LVT flooring recommend you fill screwheads I suspect this is OTT if the heads are actually flush rather than recessed.

However to be safe, I have.

I use car body filler - which is what I use on all woodwork - cheaper and better than woodfiller IME.
