Is he on here? He had his Tamora transported from Coventry to Glasgow in June 2015, and I was looking for feedback from him on the transport company he used.

Apologies, as I have no more info on 'David' than this!

TIA.

I'd be interested too as I may get a Tamora transported from Weston-Super-Mare to Staffordshire.

Did you buy the 06 car Lee? I used to see it around. It's a beauty.

Hi Lee.

I have had no +ve feedback on who David is.

I am using the same company that David used, D Freshney, to transport my Griff 500 from Newcastle to Heathrow in just over 2 weeks.

I'll get back to you on (i) whether my car disappears and (ii) if it doesn't, the overall service.

My Griff's journey is twice the distance of yours, and I have agreed a price of £250.

I went through www.shiply.com a site where you plug in what you want, and all manner of transport companies bid steadily downwards until the bids start leveling out. Freshney weren't the cheapest (but only by a few £), but they have seemingly done 100s of jobs, including classics and a few TVRs. They got a good 'rating' on shiply.com.

I can send you Freshney's email address if all goes to plan.

Terry

Hi - Yes I did, the chameleon green '06. It's a stunner; Martyn has maintained it beautifully and I couldn't fault it at all (and I can be well picky - "really!?" I hear my wife say!). As is often the case, it looks even better in the flesh. As I wanted to ensure everything went well (and legal!) I didn't pick it up there and then so am considering having it trailered back. Apparently (according to my other half) I've now got to let my lovely Griffith go; that'll be a tough day. frown

Hi Terry; that'd be great. We're a bit constrained on weekend slots for picking up and are off to Sydney in around five weeks so it's all a bit up in the air at the mo. I'm sure Martyn wouldn't mind giving it lodgings for a bit longer but I don't want to impose! Hope it goes well for your car's trip - fingers crossed.

A wise man once told me it was bad luck to sell a Griffith.

Lee - I would recommend the transport company I used. Their email is dfreshneytransport@hotmail.co.uk - suggest email them first for a quote and then get quotes from www.shiply.com for the job. On shiply they trade as Taylor Dawson.

Thanks for that; glad to hear that it went well for you. As it turns out I ended up driving the Tamora back from Western. I must have looked a right tool driving through the town, trying to get used to the biting point/pedal location/throttle response! #embarrassing. Still, got back in one piece. It wasn't helped that we were informed at the train station to get from Stafford to Western that someone had joyridden a tractor (!!) into one of the bridges on that main route, meaning we had a massive detour and an extra few hours on our train journey down there. Almost 12 hours later, I was back at home again, with hypothermia having driven it all with the roof off, including a spell on the M5! smile

Oops. I stalled on the Hanger Lane Roundabout on one of my first jaunts in the Griff. #equallyembarrasing

Hi, sorry for the tardy reply but I don't check PH as often as I did as I am now 'TVR less' having sold the Tam. I used Freshney's a couple of times to transport my Tam to and from Power. They were competitively priced, turned up when they said they would and delivered the car on time and unmarked. I would certainly recommend them. If using the Shiply site I would recommend checking feedback on the companies who respond to your transportation request as not all are as competent or reliable as Freshney's.
