How tall is your MIL?

While the Mustang has rear seats, looking over a friend's one and chatting to him about it, there's really not much leg or head room in the back.

It was an excellent car in many regards though.

Cheers,
Tom

Running costs aren't anywhere near as bad as people make out my 4.7s ran faultlessly the Main Dealer needed to go on a customer service course but once I found the Indy in the link below it was a much nicer & less costly experience.

One is boring the other is a car persons car with vast aftermarket tuning and modifiying possibilities,
owners clubs and will make you smile oh and maybe could rightfully be called an icon..

A Mustang isn't really that boring if you get one a with a big engine.

I wouldn't say the Maser is boring.

Um not slow handles well comfy sounds good but like all the high end euro cars you buy the car not the possibilities they are for people with money who see a status symbol and not much time to enjoy their cars and arnt car people , A bit like buying a new house in a gated community for a million rather than a run down cottage and making it your home with the million... horses for and all that !!!

If it was my money, I'd take the Maser all day long, just looks far classier IMO

Is money an issue? I.e. does it matter?

Because that's what it boils down to.

If not, just choose. I'd take the Maser.

If it is:

The Maser will be MUCH more expensive to run, there will be no cheap bills, the 09's are 7 years old already and will be 10+ when you decide to sell. The Mustang is a simple car. Just back from the US and it seems every second rental car is a convertible Mustang. Rental companies know a thing or two about cars that are cheap to buy, maintain and fix.

VS

What would the expected residuals on both cars be in 3 years? Any projections?

That is the equation you need to solve (again, if it matters to you)
All this. Two very different propositions which only the OP can decide.

Maserati for me.

It will cost more to run, but is in a more gentle part of its depreciation curve.

The Ford will only cost fuel month to month, but will lose value a lot faster once the early-adopter premium has been eroded away.

No high end car is owned by a true car enthusiast and only cars bought to be Halfortised are worth owning by true enthusiast? confused

Why bother with a Mustang then, might as well get a 106, no? When the cut off point where if you spend any more than £X on the vehicle you are no longer a true petrolhead? How many trinkets need to adorn the car to make you a true car nut?

I suspect I've modified more cars and spent more money on doing so than you. Does that make me more of a car nut than you? But then I also own a Granturismo, do I lose petrolhead points for doing so?

How could any true car enthusiast not have any feelings of want for this? cloud9

Not a fair comparison. I like the 'stang...

But in this comparison, there is only one winner for desirability, and that's the Granturismo.
