Oh go on then, might help pass the time.

Explain, giving examples if you would be so kind.
Here you go my good man

Just a car with a slightly large engine.

A car with slightly large engine FFS? It's a junior Bentley. You better recognise!
Classier than a Bentley as everyone thinks it is just a Mondeo, thus allowing your wealth to truly whisper.

5.7 litres is a small block and not an entry ticket into the muscle car crowd
I didn't think the capacity of the engine necessarily meant it could be defined as small block / big block. As in aren't there some small blocks with larger capacities than some big blocks?
I've got a 427ci 7007cc small block
If you start with a 400ci Chevy small block you can build a 440ci (7210cc) motor. nerd

The General Lee had a bench seat up front and so had 6 seats. Is that too many to qualify as a muscle car?

You might want to reconsider this line (and I'm not talking about spelling mistakes). Some people have feelings, seriously man.

Not sure anyone would think you were wealthy with a 3 grand x type ? Might make you look cock of the local estate, not much else.

The original V8 Vantage has to be the ultimate English homage to the US muscle car. I'm not sure that anything non US can be anything closer than a homage though?

I saved time and started with a 427ci Chevy small block and did nothing to it.
In which case, can someone explain what the heck the difference is between a small block and a big block? I'm guessing the small block isn't just further away and it sure doesn't seem to relate to capacity.

My understanding was that a small-block engine has the cylinders closer together in the block (i.e. there isn't much metal between the cylinders), but a big-block engine has a sizeable chunk of metal between the cylinders. So, for any given capacity and bore, the big-block block is bigger than a small-block block.

ETA: whilst looking for a picture to illustrate this, I found this chap has already done a whole YouTube video about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPZuEWli4gQ
