Haha, very good - when did you last see a Defender traveling over 50 mph?
Yesterday.

Most days actually.

Lots of People buy a Q7 for lots of different reasons , im a owner of 7 years !! our 4.2 diesel has done 97000 miles , its been up stelvio pass , dragged a racecar trailer to Spa 6 times , carried a massive amount of race car spares all over the uk as well as camping equipment all over europe and pretty high speed . in a recent drag down the runway at bruntingthorpe its bashed into its limiter at 155 pretty hard !!

Amazingly i manage to park it in tesco's without damaging anybody elses car and it recently took 7 adults on a meal out with no problems .

its was bought to do a job and it does it very well in the seven years i have owned it she has had a regular service every year and 1 faulty parking sensor replaced .
not a big fan of the styling of the new Q7 but im sure its a very capable machine .
would i buy a SQ7 ? perhaps but i prefer the look of the new Jaguar F pace .
Yeah - my early 3.0Tdi - was a great car - didn't even need a light bulb in 7 years of daily use.......liked tyres however....

I'm waiting until theres some Audi support on SQ7's - I like the look of the F Pace also - but its too small - more of a Q5 equivalent I think? - and I need the van-like rear and 7 seats of the Q7 quite often.

Yes I'm wondering how much they'll discount down to! There are some big discounts on the X5 50d so I imagine Audi will follow suit.

I liked the previous 4.2 TDi as well - I once followed one down from Aviemore in my old 650i and couldn't keep up as he had better visibility so could see further and overtake in places I couldn't. A very useful car.

You should have seen it before it was cut! The odd relevant post has bit the dust as well unfortunately, but there you go these things happen.

I use to dislike SUVs (and still mostly do) however I part own one (the total opposite of the SQ7 - Nissan Quashqai Diesel).

They are bigger than normal Estate cars - we can load dive kit, mountain bikes and other luggage in one go. Plus there is loads of leg room and general space up front. Pretty comfortable driving through Europe too and we occasionally have to take it down some dirt tracks (so the extra ground clearance is a massive help).

An SUV can never be a work of art neither can it have the dynamics of an estate car, however logically they do make sense!

Another vulgar Audi which will no doubt be driven in the true Audi tradition. No doubt it will appeal to premiership footballers and their WAGS but void of any class whatsoever.

The F-Pace is significantly bigger than the Q5 in the boot (same boot space as the X5), slightly more leg room in the back than a Q5, but otherwise the same size as the Q5. If you only need to transport 4 in comfort and 5 occasionally its plenty big enough. X5 is better at carrying 3 in the back.

After having a F-Pace for a few hours I switched my order to the XC90, I wanted something closer to the size of the S-Max it is replacing, the extra two seats are useful for the handful of times we need them per year, and the interior was much better quality. I was surprised that Jag didn't allow you to upgrade the leather as the standard leather is very plasticky. F-Pace does drive better than the XC90 and the Q7, especially the supercharged v6 we drove.

Just tested the F-pace in the flesh. Very disappointed. Drive is Ok (though I actually prefer the SQ5 to drive) - but the thing looks very low rent internally and has lost the special feel of the showcar/prototype, its almost bland. Its off the list for me. SQ7 is at the top at the moment.

Which engine did you drive for the F-Pace? The supercharged v6 was by far the most charismatic engine I've driven in a SUV, although I have not driven the Porsche v8s or Turbo.

interesting stuff on the F pace , we were looking at the 2 litre diesel sport but if im honest it felt gutless compared to the big Audi !! i am also a bit concerned about how it will tow ! the salesman could not tell me the towing weights . ive also noticed there is some very good deals on old stock Q7 !!
