Inspired by this, a few weeks ago I went full American park ranger and picked up a '99 dark green/ tan interior Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited WJ. Drives like a land yacht but feels like a lounge on wheels, and has tackled the fields near my home with aplomb.

The truly agricultural diesel just about cracks 30mpg on the motorway, and there's enough torque to move a house. A hell of a lot of car for £1,000.
