RE: TVR's rebirth - can it work? PH Blog

I hope the dream comes true. It's a tough market out there as all the niche sports car makers will tell you. Remember it was the Boxster that killed TVR - secondhand they, and the Cayman, are blistering competition. Even Porsche is moving more and more production into SUVs.
Still, it's their money, so good on 'em.
Oh, and I always wanted to try a Sagaris.......

Side exiting exhausts so the underside can be flat for aerodynamic downforce reasons.
Good luck getting side exits through the DriveBy Noise Test........TVR used "old" homologation results (think mid 1990's) right up to the end of production to "bypass" some of the more difficult er, factors, with their last cars, but this is not something that can be done now, as production ceased so all previous type approval became null and void.
Ok from the show -
BJ Woods - sorry it's not the width of an F type, it is under 2 meters wide - Black S2k - no problem now for you?
Max-Torque - side exiting exhausts - no issues with the noise tests but with side exiting exhausts people by the road side only hear one half of the engine note. They were talking about a valved cross connection to allow harmonics to cross to improve exhaust noise.
60k mile on the test mule car already.
For those talking £100k, you haven't spoke to TVR, they are saying significantly less than your £100K claims for the Launch edition. There will be a LE colour, one off only used on the LE although other colours would be available if you insisted.
Base car is still around £65k but would be standard engine, not the cossie breathed on one, no carbon chassis etc

Side exhaust exit - not practicable in Europe. Check out the Chrysler Viper compared with US market Dodge Viper.
I still think anyone who hopes to buy a handbuilt V8 sportscar for the price of an Evora is being very optimistic indeed.
Usually the "launch" editions of cars are loaded, not stripped. The maker has to pocket some profit before the initial excitement subsides.

The Cerbera will NOT sell. Especially if you can get one for 10k.
10 grand will buy you a really bad/smashed one. Those days have long gone.....allroad one said:

Either way, it's a bloody 90's TVR, no one in their right mind is gonna pay more than £27000 for a new one, no matter how appealing it is. I hope this is some sort of joke?
You appear to have no clue what you are talking about or be in the market for a Tvr anyway?Edited by Cerberaherts on Monday 9th May 05:30

Launch edition is indeed the fully spec'd version, still expected to be around £85k, fully tuned cossie engine, carbon chassis.I still think anyone who hopes to buy a handbuilt V8 sportscar for the price of an Evora is being very optimistic indeed.

Side exit exhaust not possible in Europe? Mercedes Mclaren SLR managed it ok.

I thought that they were going to be dragging the wrapping off that model this weekend or is it just a tease?
It's just a clay model under the cover sadlyallroad one said:

Seen the M600 relaunchhttp://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Noble have appointed Super Veloce Racing (SVR) as their official sales and service dealer. At £206,820(excluding options & V.A.T) for the Sport Coupe and £231,091.50 (excluding options & V.A.T) for the Carbon Sport, the M600 is more expensive than the 488GTB, Huracan and 650S.
Need to add VAT to that!
