Fella, why are you even on this thread?

Taking a position on Lotus Evora because you " stood next to one and heard it driving away" is a pretty laughable stance...

Nope. It's almost like you're just making stuff up. Proton and its umbrella company DRB Hicom have been the custodian of Lotus for quite some time now.
When someone hates Lotus they'll spout any old sh*t.
My mistake, I didn't realise DRB and Proton were related. I should clarify, I love Lotuses. I won't fit in most of them, and back in the Chapman days I was too chicken to buy one because of the build quality woes friends had with them, but I'm very glad they exist. I just don't see anything in their current range that's special enough.

So what new car for £80k is more special than an Evora 400? I honestly can't think of one that even comes close

Maybe, but it appears most other people can.

Not when you ask them. I think it's lack of awareness. This is a petrolhead site and no one here can identify a car with the same performance, attention grabbing and ability to take a couple of kids that can be bought for a similar price.

I'm feeling a pang of envy, I'll admit.

Congrats. How long do you get to wait and string out the excitement for?

Thought I'd revisit this thread smile

I've had my Hethel Ed for about 2 weeks now, 1350miles, due for first service.
Took it on a roadtrip from Berkshire to Edinburgh last week, fantastic car!

On Saturday I had the good fortune to hear an Evora 400 in full cry on the Hethel test track. What a fantastic noise.
