I thought you meant the pukka BMW dealer fit LSD for the M135, which is why I said add a grand at least.
And anyway, even if it's the Quaife option as you quote, it's still add a grand as I said......£1,666 plus VAT is about £2k, so where do you get fitting a diff is going to be around 1200 quid
As Birds supply and fit some of the best road biased suspension I would say they are? FWIW CPC were less, but as you would probably prefer Syntner, with all their 'pukka' mechanics I cannot recommend them to you.And anyway, even if it's the Quaife option as you quote, it's still add a grand as I said......£1,666 plus VAT is about £2k, so where do you get fitting a diff is going to be around 1200 quid

You're not making any sense.
And I use Birds as well, so no need for the sarcastic additional comments either

Are what......?
If you use Birds you'll know all about the various packages and the level of their work. My post was to highlight the relatively small amount of cash to upgrade to an LSD, amongst other things, which totally transform the car. We can split hairs over £500 all day long, if you want one it is not really going to matter in the long term for the enjoyment it will bring. I didn't use Birds for other reasons and found a better price etc with CPC...who I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Back OT the 140i with a few tweaks is going to be an absolutely brilliant package.

I quite like how they look, get one for say 18k, couple of grand on a remap and some other bits, all the car I will need for a long time.

It's spectacular that these things exist.
.. even if they are a rather expensive and epic way to lose your licence in an over-engined shopping car!
Indeed - I loved my shopping car : drop 2 kids to school, straight onto the Ring/Spa/whatever in comfort, full day there, fill up with beer/wine/whatever on the way back... even if they are a rather expensive and epic way to lose your licence in an over-engined shopping car!
All this for £25k after discount, I call it a bargain.

Remind us, what do you actually drive? There are lots of various things discussed like 'American V8's' in your topics but no real evidence of what you ended up with?Regardless M135i is still merde tho.

We have had our 135i for coming up to 3 years. Overall a good car but with a number of weaknesses - a big one being lack of traction, especially in anything except ideal road conditions. Somehow I suspect more torque not going to help.
I've had mine 2.5 years and done 57k miles.I drive it hard and only ever had traction issues when presented with a layer of hail
I'm going to struggle to find a replacement

I thought the M135 chassis was struggling with the power, can only imagine this new model will be a handful.
IME it doesn't have a problem (57k miles in)It is frustrating you can't adjust the front geo
Mine just failed an MOT on front out edge tyre wear ( common issue )

Wondering exactly how hard people are driving to have the traction control cut in regardless of road conditions. On a track, flat out I can well imagine with an open diff the car will be left wanting, are people really driving that hard on the roads ? Not found traction to be a problem to be honest.
4wd would be better, obviously, but there are always trade offs. Which are all pretty obvious (I think?).
Either way, in 10 years when we're all driving glorified milk floats around we'll look back on cars like this with affection.
