RE: BMW M140i and M240i announced
Discussion
Another classic binary strawman argument. Anyone being a better driver than scherzkeks is a Driving God (even though we still haven't had a definition of DG). Shall I unearth that thread again Mr scherzkeks ?
Are you gonna make DN16 in July or are you too busy polishing your Haldex technical doc ?
Still, this is Trolls Reunited now ;-)

I've ordered a BMW M140i!
Went for Manual, 5 door, Estoril blue, adaptive m-sport suspension, Harmon Kardon and other goodies. The discounts and PCP deals worked very favourably compared to my previous plan...
I test drove a pre LCI manual M135i and it was epic (in my opinion)
It comes in Aug/Sept so my mighty ST220 will be up for grabs, and whoever buys it I'm sure will be delighted.
I've got a pickup date of 30/7 for mine. 5dr Auto in black with oyster inside and comfort pack. I was very light on options as most of the good stuff is standard. I hear he outruns Ducatis on an ill-fitting bicycle, and is also a certified PHDG. Should you be fool enough to continue to engage, I suggest you start updating your PH Internet garage with the appropriate vehicles right now.
Have you still not found a mate? As for bicycles, don't be silly old boy.Clivey said:

I read that as I was just listening to 'Under the Bridge' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Didn't realise my laptop had a built-in warning for these things... Sorry... Permission to resume normal service

In between all the silliness, someone asked what the running costs are like.
The answer to which is that they are frankly cheap as chips.
I've had mine since new and it will be four years old in September. All it has cost me in that time has been petrol (at a reasonable average of 30mpg), tax, insurance, some new windscreen wiper blades, one MoT and an extended warranty. Servicing costs have been nil thanks to a £300 5yr servicing pack.

Takes one to know one me boy. BTW, would you say that you have a bit of a thing for BMW, like an unconditional love kind of thing, stueybee?
LOL that made me chuckle. Haven't heard that one for a while, takes me back, to the school playground. Must be...25+ years ago at least, from a little fat girl with thick glasses who used to talk st all day long. I think her name was Amy. Are you Amy?Personally I think you bought a 114i, re-badged it to a 135i, then slowly you convinced yourself it was a 135i.
One day you got in it and thought, Jesus, this 135i is total st.
Are we close yet?

It's difficult to overlook if you want a rwd car, 30 average is pretty decent. Is that mixed driving? I've had mine since new and it will be four years old in September. A brief analysis of the new engine: http://blogs.youwheel.com/2015/06/12/brief-analysi...
Also don;t like the sound of this from the BMW engineering brochure:"Replacing the main bearing caps... is not allowed and will lead to engine damage"
Sounds like you're supposed to use up the engine and then buy a factory new one, no rebuilds allowed.
I note it says main bearing caps (not main bearing shells), in my experience it's rare that the main bearing caps need replacing on an engine, and in most cases any new caps would probably need line boring in situ anyway.
I wonder if BMW have resorted to the snapped cap method for main bearing caps now too ?
