Today on my commute to work I saw a couple of cars that had little design elements to them (or maybe lack of design elements) which just looked awkward to me.

There must be others, but the two which stand out to me are:

Peugeot 508 hatchback - the badge placement on the rear bumper is a bit off when viewed from directly behind, surely going on the lower right of the boot lid would have been the better option?

The other is every current watered down "Chevrolet" Aveo where they put the front badge on the bumper, rather than on the grill, and it looks wrong on a lot of levels...

I nominate the stupid little fake grills next to the rear lights on my S2 Elise. They look awful.

Fixed it for you too... hehe

However, for the purposed of the OP, specifically those weird stuck on plastic strips under the rear light/indicator...apologies, not the best close-up picture. Actually, apologies for posting the whole of the rear.

If you drive an mx5 or other small low car, you see just how many of these big exec saloons and SUV have - in reality - weedy little peashooter exhausts inside the big blingy chrome exhaust tips.

I'm fanatical about Honda/Mugen/Spoon/Motorsport. I'm not blind.

I realise that these aren't exactly recent but never fails to amuse me. The redundant number plate recess on the Suzuki Wagon R.

I think 95% + of people know that's for looks. Which is a good thing, as peashooters look pants.

The new Astra estate has a piece of metal (probably plastic trim) running through the C-Pillar to the rear window. I know they want to give it a bit of visual flair, but it just looks weird to me:

Modern Mercedes are the ones, with design trills squeezed onto every available square inch of the car and all fighting with each other for visual dominance.

The lopsided Mini Clubman, if you're going to put rear doors in at least put them in both sides! Same with the Hyundai Veloster.

Would you say the same for every Transit/Vivaro/Sprinter on the roads though?

If it's a van it can get away with the one door, if it has seats in the back it needs doors either side personally.

The whole rear end of the new Prius and the massive vertical light strip

Saw one drive past and instantly had to look away

Ssangyong Rodius.

How many awkward design details can you inflict on one vehicle?
