Another from me:

You don't see many Citroen C6s on the road, and I quite like them from what I have seen. However the other day, I was behind one and the view from the back is just odd, particularly the way the bootlid/tailgate is so awkwardly recessed and lower than the side flanks:

I think that the C6 is a fantastic design, and the "quirks" that you've highlight are key to some of it's charm.

The concave screen harks back to the CX, and has a practical benefit too, for keeping clear from spray at speed on motorways due to the bubble of air it creates ............ the latter might be bks regurgitated from 2nd hand sources, but either way, it looks cool IMO.

On which note, all this...
Scrolling down, and with the lamp clusters off the bottom of the page, I thought that someone had created a modern Austin Princess concept.

the manky seats are not actually dirty, just alcantara with the grain going in different directions!

BMW Z4 tail lights. That little body-coloured strip in the light unit looks so out of place, it really spoils the back of the car for me. Thankfully they ditched it on the facelift!

Glad I'm not the only that wondered what he was talking about.

I agree with others who say...drive one!
To be fair, the thread is about styling not how a car drives and I agree, to my eye they've always looked naff. I've git friends who have owned then so know they are great to drive but they could be made to look soooo much nicer.

As a former disco 3 owner I've always detested these new shape disco's. Looks awful in my opinion, basically an evoque on steroids.

Indeed , a going over with one of those funy velevety clothes brushes , or the no doubt highly specialist tool for alacantra that is just the same but costs 10 times the price , to get the 'pile' to sit the same way ...

These new Discovery sports are the freelander replacement as the name freelander had a bad reputation I believe. You can still get the discovery as the shape your used too.

5th generation Ford Mustang; the rear 1/4 light on the Coupe', to me it has always looked odd, I can't pinpoint what it is, it just doesn't work to my eyes.

The tiny rear quarterlight on the Mercedes E class coupe. It just looks strange. The rear side window would look better as a one piece.

I can't unsee that now. Hideous.

I also really dislike the rear 3/4 panel and the way there is an awkward bulge on the rear arches going over the wheel. It could have looked so much better smoothed into the bodywork without having that crease. Puts me off an otherwise nice design.
Both of those annoy me too. I guess the little window is there to enable the rear window to fully retract without hitting the inner wheel arch - top give the clean pillarless look.

The wheel arch, I've seen somewhere else an older Mercedes sports car with a similar line, can't find it now but assumed at the time it was a nod to their history - still looks odd though.

Don't make friends with gits then; be more discerning.

Land Rover have made a lucrative business from sticking "Sport" on the boot of lesser models, with names from higher end models, to attract the punters.

The whole concept of the E class coupe is a bit st, it's based on a class platform so is skinner than the saloon, park them next to each other and it's very visable

Yes it's a CLK replacement / C-Class coupe and cabrio really. The interior is a curious mash-up of C and E, and the ride and NVH levels are very much C-Class rather than E.

Doesn't seem to have stopped them leasing out millions of them though!

The new revised mini clubman rear. Two things bug me. The clubman badge, a 7 letter word, split into 4 letters one side and 3 the other on the back doors.
And the brake lights in the lower light cluster rather than the more obvious place in the upper cluster.

I followed one yesterday and when it braked my immediate thought was that some muppet had wired up the rear lights wrong but no, it's apparently intentional - it looks stupid.
Blame the eu. Euro homologation requires the rear brake light to be seen when the boot is open. Same problem on the original freelander.
