No. That would be shooting myself in the foot. I live in Germany.

I realise that these aren't exactly recent but never fails to amuse me. The redundant number plate recess on the Suzuki Wagon R.

Nope, I'm, with you on that.
I'm fairly sure that wasn't a number plate recess. The original Wagon R had a boot handle that fitted in that recess - think of a smaller version of a roof rail in that slot.
I think it is a numberplate recess, that's where the Vauxhall version's numberplate went.
Must have been a bit of both:

The slope down at the top of the rear door window on the Volvo 240 estate.

You can plainly see that the car was originally designed as a saloon then the estate bit was tacked-on.

New Civic Type-R - Every damn part of the car, from front to back
Fixed that for you.
Fixed it for you too... hehe

However, for the purposed of the OP, specifically those weird stuck on plastic strips under the rear light/indicator...apologies, not the best close-up picture. Actually, apologies for posting the whole of the rear.

I'm pretty sure the strips on the rear is for aerodynamics/low drag. though i'd imagine it's rather pointless on a type r with a spoiler.
I'm sure that's what it's for. It still looks like a stuck on after-thought and its across the whole range. I can't think of another new car that has a stuck-on bit like that.

Argh you monster! I'd never noticed that before! Absolutely triggering or what?!
The whole back end is a stupid design. Two minivan doors, two rear wipers, two handles, 7 letters, Mini and cooper badges floating out on the outer edges, then finally the weird bug eye lights.

ugh.
+1

It's an utter abomination to my eyes; almost as if 45 random people were charged with just designing the back end

Another with the Clubman.

Having a 7 letter name badged across the back of a car with vertically split rear doors. smash

I was behind one of these recently. Driver wasn't going slowly, but dear god I've never wanted to get past someone more.

I'm sure the oncoming traffic would understand.

Ah, I apologise for my presumption. The thing is that Mini, despite being BMW-owned is thought of as British by both the British and the Germans, much like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

The tiny rear quarterlight on the Mercedes E class coupe. It just looks strange. The rear side window would look better as a one piece.

The Micra convertible. That long back end just makes it look like a pickup truck. The design is that focused on hiding the roof in the boot to the cost of any looks of the overall car.

Renault Clio and Captur caved in door look. They look like they've been broadsided. And these oversized Renault badges look daft too.

The Proton Savvy. Weird shaped windowline, and that rear end!

Damn! Can't unsee that either now.

Its like vans with really bad sign writing where the lettering crosses a shut line and they just hack it off down the middle.

No worries.

As for the Union Jack thing. Put it this way. If you were a German living in Britain and kept seeing the German flag nailed onto 1 Series BMWs by people with a matching handbag how would you feel?

Having said that if people aren't doing it somebody is missing a trick.

There was something similar moulded into the C-pillar of the R56 MINI which did the same. They're to shed the airflow which has attached to the panel before the curve inwards to the boot lid. Otherwise you'd end up with a big blob of drag.

Nasty though, and the Honda one is a particular abomination.

Previous shape S-Max in Titanium X spec. Why doesn't the chrome strip go under the door mirror? GAH!
