Why do people cream themselves over these when they don't look as good as the car they are based on?
Having only last week seen a DB4 GT next to a Zagato of the same, I have to agree on the whole. I do love the Zagato cues, but I think the standard car looks better. That said I love the 2011 Vantage Zagato, but not in a 'it looks better' just as a car in it's own right.ajprice said:
Very nice looking car!
I thought they may be referencing the similar (although much smaller) lights from the DB4 Zagato.krallicious said:
Not sure about the lights in the front grill but that looks stunning. The rear 3/4 especially.
They might have got the idea for those lights from thisI generally like spoilers, but that last picture looks noticeably worse with the bolt on spoiler than the ones with the built in spoiler. If anything, I'd like that built in one to be a little bit longer.
Very pretty car, but it looks more like an in-house revision. Zagatos are supposed to be more polarizing.

For the next Zagato Aston PLEASE allow them the money to change the headlights. Ruined the last Vantage Zagato too, surely possible if you're changing si much else??
I seem to remember reading that when McLaren made a very one off car a very significant expense would have been to include unique headlamps as they have to be homologated at seven figure sums - not sure what the specific figure was but very high. Spreading it over a few cars helps but could make or break the business case a limited run of cars. What a mess Aston Martin are in. This entirely predictable 'concept,' a gaping great big hole at the front dressed up with the usual Zagato slab of a grill, with the squared off window line no doubt to in some way remind us of previous Zagato efforts. The whole design concept lacks creative thinking, its just a regurgitation of what they have done before. In fact it is a pale lifeless copy of the past.
Best just to move on and hope that what is to come will save this company from the dire mediocrity so symbolised by this design that ultimately is driving Aston Martin into the proverbial ditch.

Let us please take a moment to reflect on how another beautiful piece of work has once again been overshadowed by the sh*tty current trend for diamond-cut and black alloys which should have died back in the early 2000s along with tribal graphics and cheap 6x9" speakers among other Halfords reject tat.
With some proper wheels it would look amazing.

I agree. The manufacturers like it though because it means they can offer a "special" "premium" optional wheel design without having to actually tool up a new wheel design. With some proper wheels it would look amazing.
