The Mk2 RS, although gopping, was only ever intended to be a limited run thing (about 12k units from memory) as a "halo" model to boost the ST sales.

This Mk3 I am led to believe will not be limited, they will sell as many as they can make (after I'd imagine some Stuttgart style demand control at the onset)and therefore residuals will plummet just as much as anything else in the sector, probably quicker than the CTR as it has a stronger brand in this segment.

Circa 4,600 MK2 Focus RS sold in the UK, by the by. About half of them in Aberdeen, or so it seems to me.

Well actually supply is indeed limited and therefore your entire post is incorrect. This will likely hold its value better than the other Focus RS's.

Oh and demand is currently far in excess of supply.

I'd suggest multiple other people in this room are in a similar position.

If you can't afford one Joe well thats just too bad (I'm sure you'll say you don't want one for this reason or that - but your first line and previous posts shows you obviously can't afford one and really wanted a Golf....but too poor) but don't state retarded things about the buying demographic just because you bought some stty Polo that will be worth buttons in the next couple of years.

Really!! Is someone providing an incentive for PH to say this? I've read a lot of Focus RS reviews, many of which have the Type R in the mix. The Type R doesn't finish at the top end of the pecking order in any of them and is a non runner in the wet.

Its a factor that's important when you eventually want to purchase something else I lost £3500 in 6 years on an RS Focus Mk2 if I had purchased a 135msport in 2010 30k would have been the purchase price and I would have got well under 12K. So YES

And every other Road test has put the Focus way out in front of the Honda. Don't get me wrong the Honda is good but not as good as the RS in so many other areas. But at the end of the day we all have different opinions, it would be boring if we hadn't.

Can you point me to one of these tests? The only other one I found was that crappy Autotrader one that ruled out the Civic based on a wet track time and never even tried it on the road. Waste of time. Everyone seems to be besotted with the Focus. Maybe I shouldn't have cancelled my order and bought a new guitar with the deposit..haha!
