That was a very elaborate way of going about just being upset that the Civic was preferred on the day to the car you prefer. Rarely do I get to read such crap on PH, which really is saying something. Get over it, honestly.

Have a look at the weather, go somewhere where it's raining and fill your boots.
Why don't you and Joe and Jockey just get a room, and the rest of us could discuss the thread topic.

It's like the late 80s all over again. 205 vs Golf in those days. Shame VW and Pug don't have a mainstream hot hatch to this level, the Polo GtI is in the next segment up with the RS4s and C Class AmGs sadly.

When you don't discuss the Thread Topic and just B.S. about whatever pops into your head, you need to Tweet each other and leave the discussion to those of us that are interested in the Civic R and the Focus RS. Look at your posts. Yes, "silly" is exactly the right word.

Stay On The Topic.

208gti looks like a cracking car in the segment below the Type R and Focus RS, the 308gti is up against unbelievably good opposition these days though, the market is awash with great cars.

Feel free to go through all my posts - all of which are on topic and being discussed.

You're upset because you're not getting your way, we know. It's OK.

Are you being serious? In same segment as a RS4?! There's a reason why they limited production of the Cayman GT4; because too many people were buying its closest rival a la Polo GTI LP 192-2 Performante Edizione Tecnica.

Nearly bins it? What planet are you from? If I hadn't have caught it the esp would have!

Wow now I understand why everyone slams this place off.

To put this to bed.

I like the car. I had a Clio 172 before which handled good but felt slow (no torque) it was noisy and uncomfortable. (Bare in mind on here 172's seem to be treated as the best thing

Now I have a nice modern car that handles even better and has more grip it's got more torque and is faster, it's comfy as hell, has all the options I need, has a decent sound system (you know for listening to music as it spends it's life on the public road) it is turbocharged and has plenty of tuning options if I want to go down that road too (I probably won't though)

It's a fact I like it. You know, because it does what I want a car to do!

Also my constant promotion of the car seems to have worked for the youtube channel that had 3 subscribers till this month smile

Isn't it equally possible that you and the folks at AT are biased towards the Focus RS and are therefore incorrect? Also isn't it odd your superior Focus RS with AWD and AYC and stickier tyres is slower than the Civic in the Auto Express times posted by Plastic Sith? Surely regardless of conditions the inferior, under steering Civic with less power should be slower? Everyone has differing opinions and just because they are different from yours doesn't mean they are wrong or corrupted.

P.S. For what it's worth I think the Focus is a great car and wouldn't hesitate to get one if I could afford it. Even the Polo GTI is a good option (You have to admit it's better than walking!).
I never said anyone's "opinion" was wrong. I pointed out how parts of the review were not consistent with the facts. And yes, of course, we all have biases. The test you referenced was very close. Easily within the range of lapping consistency. But the times posted on the wet track weren't close. 1.15 secs in the AutoTrader track test.

And thanks for staying on Topic.

Excellent find that video. I thought it had to be pure coincidence but no!

Guy was intimidated by the day running led lights and because there was such an underrated high performance vehicle chasing him down.

Wow, I mean just wow. "His lines are terrible" I think you'll find it was just a person driving somewhere and having no idea John Major was following him in a Golf GTI with a camera in it.

Joking aside it's not easy videoing yourself and trying to make a Youtube channel. Some of your stuff is actually alright, a bit Car Throttle Alex in places for my liking. Might work better if you wrote yourself a bit of a script first so there isn't so much er and umm and trying to figure what to say while shooting it. smile

Of all the hot hatches the Honda is the odd one. Always has been. With the VW GTi as a benchmark / marketleader / reference how a hot hatch should be the Civic stands out. Different strokes for different blokes and all that.
Which generation vw gti are you referring to?
http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-categories/hot-hatches

The last one. Obviously.

My fav since the 1st ever hot hatch must be the Lancia Delta Integrale: AWD turbo 2 litre > Lancia saw it coming.

RocketRS might have a different reason, probably relating to a chip like object spotted on his shoulder.
