Am I allowed to criticise the RS because it looks st?
Of course you can as you have actual experience by looking at it and if that is your truthful opinion, I think it looks great.. Just as I and everyone else in the World are allowed to criticise the CTR for looking like a piece of Halfords tat from 10 years ago.

Chav in the same way as the Civic Type R is, you mean? That's just a common generalisation though, it will only be chav when chavs can afford it in ten years time, along with all the other hot hatches/M3's/anything exciting and cheap. These cars are going to be bought by middle agers who never grew up (like me!).

The insecurity has gone beyond funny to being painful to watch.

The Focus may well be an amazing car. It might be a bit gash. But it'll certainly be chav. Not necessarily by design, but by those that buy it. You'd be as well dealing with that now, and coming to terms with it buddy, instead of "Yeah, well, so's yours! Nah nah nah!"

As I've said in my Readers Cars thread and interestingly as written about in this months Evo magazine, the only car I've ever experienced that has provoked as much positive reaction as the Type-R was the Nissan GTR.

Strange but true, it really does get people stopping and talking about it and they might just be being polite but all of it so far is positive.

Insecurity? Nothing to be insecure about. Great car and I'm just pointing that out to people who want to vehemently criticise it. Everyone knows its great and will be very slow to depreciate. Why would that make someone with one insecure l? Odd suggestion.

And your 2nd paragraph is even more laughable. You are coming across as a bit of a dick. "Chav this" and "chav that". Who cares? Certainly not me, I drive a Subaru and sometimes I even wear a cap. I couldn't care less what some stuck up tt thinks about me or my cars otherwise I'd be driving something boring and probably German.

I'm sure, I can't comment about reactions to either. I've never even seen a mk3 FRS on the road.

You didn't read my post did you? rolleyes

I don't care if tts think I or my cars are "chav".

I drive a Subaru with a massive Prodrive spoiler and sometimes I even wear a cap, oh and a hoody. Why would I do that if I cared about the labels an idiot might give me.

Looks "st" or "chavvy" is just a subjective opinion that I don't agree with, thats fine, no problem just a varying opinion, everyone has them rightly or wrongly. But when someone who has not driven it suggests something about the way it drives then I will give my properly informed opinion which is backed up by the reviews.

Yes I will indeed enjoy my car very much, can't wait. So many people want to hate it in this thread, a stark contrast to the other Focus RS thread. Very negative you lot, strange.

Then you are reading it wrong or don't have a brain in your head. Believe what you like, I care not.

You haven't driven one have you. Or any other fun awd car it would seem.

Have you seen any reviews that say its anything but massive fun?
Why are you so hell bent on everyone agreeing with you, you liked it, you bought it, some others do, some don't

This thread has reached 335d levels of insecurity.
I'm not hell bent on anything. Its just so easy to spot the people that haven't driven one or experienced anything other than looking at it.

Criticise a car for not being fast enough or fun enough sure, but drive it first to form a valid opinion, otherwise what is an opinion based on no experience worth? Can you not see that?

I'm not the one putting a car down that I haven't driven, like so many in here seem to be doing. You seem hell bent on trying to put it down or silence the people that like it and have actually driven it (again probably without driving it yourself?) which seems oddly negative. Why such a grudge against it?
I drove one and found it a bit poor. Steering was lacking feel and it was way too heavy for my liking. Would make a good family car or shopping trolley but not really a proper driver's car.

And yes I did make it go sideways at 15 mph. Took off in third out of a junction and drifted it a full 200 metres. The salesman literally shat himself.

I am wrong that I don't want a 4WD Focus...mkay. I don't think you'll find much criticism from me other than I prefer a rwd car. Difficult for you to comprehend, but true.

There's still time to cancel the order btw.

Anyway, it's 'just a car' #irony

Surely this thread should be locked? It's just pages and pages of bickering that has dragged it into the gutter

When a thread gets reduced to this level it's time to call it a day teacher

He did. But to be honest, I couldn't smell it as the stench of smoking tyres filled the cabin.

Agree, this thread should be closed.

Isn't the next Renaultsport Megane rumoured to be coming with 4WD and north of 300bhp?
I'm completely bias but far more interested in the next Giulietta QV late next year. They've made such a cracking job of the Giulia that hopes are very high. I doubt it'll be the same engine, even detuned, but a 2.0 I4 with 350bhp is in development at Alfa combined with RWD.

I agree with you! Nothing interesting being discussed here for pages and pages. On a more productive note, I must say that there is likely true greatness in this Focus if Fords men can get some good weight out of it and sharpen the suspension and all wheel drive settings! I look forward to the lightweight RS! j

Why would I want to cancel the order of an absolutely brilliant car? To appease some internet bellends?

No thanks, obvious troll is obvious.

To me, it looks very much the other way round.
